QuoteJamesJM :laughing Only kidding.... I just didn't read him that way.. that this year doesn't mean anything, that is. But zn can address that, should he choose to do so. As for 'gravy'... I'm with ya, Max. For the life of me I can't see the need to rein ourselves in because things 'might' fall apart. Quotemax QuoteznI think one difference is, to me, whether or not they are in the playoffs this year isn't of much consequence. I asssume that if they are, it's gravy. But as you say that's just a "to me" thing. .... Thats pretty clear in your posts. Yours is probably a minority viewpoint, but it's perfectly understandable if you view next year as the expected playoff seasby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM I think they have enough talent, are playing well enough, that the playoffs should be an expectation.. for the Rams... for us? That's a different question. So I would not phrase it the way you did, "playoffs this year isn't of much consequence" even though I believe, hope anyway, I see what you're saying. It very well could be of consequence, not making the playoffsby zn - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteAtlantic Ram Wasn't that the eye roll year? And also haslett... like a little rat fink trying to take the Rams down from the inside. I'd lay the majority of it on haslett but linehan was no prize pig either. To be honest I don't think the in-house coaching conflicts mattered until 2008. Then it was also Linehan v. Saunders. Quotewv ram Man, what happened between 06 and 07. I forget. w v Rams had one of their absolutely worst series of OL injuries---4 players out for the season, 6 others missing extended time. The number of games from 2012-15 where the Fisher Rams had BOTH a starting caliber qb AND a relatively healthy/relatively veteran OL is 15 out of 64. The last 8 games of 2012 and the first 7 of 2013. It stands completely to reason that they would have done better if that were not the case. IE if they had more games with both a starting caliber qb and a relatively healthy OL. Good special teams, good defense, good run game, so-so passing game, and a couple of needless penalites Like it or not, intentional or not, that was Fishball If it were to be fully like the previous regime, they would have to be playing a career #2 caliber qb. Quotemax Peterson was drafted in 2007. The Rams have been horrible every year they played him. In 2012, in the first half of the season, famously, they started 9 different linemen cause of injuries. Then they got the starters back and immediately improved. That started with the game where they took the 49ers into overtime and tied. QuoteCraigMatson I'd like to see Tavon used in the bubble screen at least twice a game . Also I think he could be used in two back set with Gurley and they could give it to him with a shovel pass. Same with him as a single back . McVay has a Pharoe Cooper bent last few games. By relating the facts. B) He scored 9 offensive TDs in 2015 being used as both a runner and receiver as a hybrid combo. In 2016 they used him more as a pure receiver and that was not as effective. In 2017 they use him more as a runner and that's limited too. He could still be used in both ways in the hybrid role but it appears that a lot gets in the way of that---Tavon missed a lotby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM it's a legitimate observation, IMHO. They ARE playing better. Cherry picking is when you select only things that represent your predetermined view, good or bad. IF you can legitimately claim they changed---and they appear to be playing differently--then the stats for that difference simply put numbers in to substantiate what everyone's eyes are telling them.
