Rams had one of their absolutely worst series of OL injuries---4 players out for the season, 6 others missing extended time. Replacements would come in and get injured---that's how it went. After the season Jackson said they were signing guys off the street to play OL. Also, and probably directly as a result, Bulger had multiple injuries and played with cracked ribs. It didn't help that the defense was 31st in points allowed and 21st in yards. But the defense was bad in 2006 too, so the main issue making the difference between 2006 and 2007 was the "watch them drop like flies" OL issues.
