They grade him kind of low but his presence was felt out there. He consistently gets the most pressures in his snaps on everyone on the team besides Donald.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills I shouldn't have said that... because he did make a couple ... in fact there was a dart he threw to Kupp in the second half that got my attention so that's fair dz for sure I guess for me what he did today I've seen him do before. We saw this Goff against Dallas, Chicago, and Tampa - he ran the offense well, got rid of the ball quickly, short quick throws. A ton of run afby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills usually doesn't mean what Jared was doing today I agree but he certainly didn't make any big time throws in the game... lots of dink and dunk he's just not confident enough to do anything else. There was a lot of dink and dunk in this game but Goff had a handful of great throws Speed. There was the one to Higbee with a few seconds to go in the 1st quarter. Good job and good call. I expected him to do well against the Cardinals too. Would you start him this Thursday against the Pats? I'm really now sure what to expect in that game.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin They probably have things they expect Jefferson, Akers, etc to know and have down cold. And they don't yet. Reynolds is a big dropoff from Cooks and it's part of that equation re: why we're seeing a low performing offense vs previous seasons. Rams never replaced Gurley and that's another reason. It's players. By next year (well hopefully down this season's stretch but certainby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLeoram This seems like a cherry picking political debate only focusing on the extremes instead of rationallly evaluating the entire body of work and it bugs the hell out of me. Some games Goff looks exceptional while he completes over a dozen passes in a row and often maneuvering well in the pocket and splitting tight windows. Some games he looks lost in space. The Rams OL was not deficient or struggling in the 2nd half of 2019. Most metrics - actually all that I've seen - indicate that it was average.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin You need to look deeper than his snaps my man. Teams focus on Kupp and Woody. Reynolds should be feasting but all he's doing is accruing snaps. Jefferson would undoubtedly start over him if he knew what he was doing and blocked better but IMO those two things are keeping his snaps low. Reynolds is an afterthought and has yet to really burn a team for that. Actually, I lookedby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Why do you say we only have 2 threats? Reynolds has been as productive as Kupp recently. And BTW, is out snapping him.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuotePHDram How can you be ok with mcvay when he chooses to stick with a qb you think so obviously sucks. One would think that such a choice would reflect poorly on our coach's decision making. McVay choosing to stick with Goff now doesn't mean he's going to continue to make that choice. All players are evaluated after every season.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteMalibuRam An "Elite" defense does let a team score on 2 consecutive drives in the 4th. They were 49 and 50 yard drives not "Hail Mary's" The Rams were not playing Mahomes and KC. They were playing a backup QB and an offense that was missing the best weapon (Kittle). People are saying the loss is 100% on Goff. Quotespagsbacker I understand there is usually some consideration for need, but Rams seem to overemphasize this to a detriment imo. Sometimes you just take the best player who drops in your lap. See Aaron Donald. The year they drafted Donald, Fisher and Snead were scouring the earth for a quick penetrating DT. They pursued several free agents that fit that mold but just weren't successful in siby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotespagsbacker if you just draft good football players you don't need to worry so much about whose contract expires in what year. You just build a deep roster by drafting good players. See Baltimore for the ultimate blueprint. By calculating who hits free agency when, you end up drafting mediocre players because you reach during the draft for guys like Everett, Noteboom, and Brian Allen. Whyby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

On Speed's point, it's more of a schematic thing. McVay didn't run variety in running plays when he had Gurley. All the stuff you say could be true but it just sounds like you latched on to a different point to push your pet peeve.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

Several of us pointed out when they traded Cooks that in McVay's scheme a deep threat was always necessary. Prior to this year, he had always talked about the critical role of the deep threat in taking off the top of the defense. Then he decided to forego that when he drafted Jefferson. I think he was trying to evolve. It probably was a mistake.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemoklerman QuoteHazlet Hacksaw We know Goff screwed the pooch in that game - but the defense also failed on the last two drives - both contributed greatly to the loss. Time to move on to the cards - flush this game down the toilet. The problem is, it seems disingenuous to put blame on the defense when they had a pretty good game. QuoteSpeed_Kills I keep coming back to him ... and really like his athletic ability I'm wondering if McVay could do a Mariotta v Tannehill situation with Goff and Darnold? I just think its intriguing I like him as an option. There will be a good market for him so they'd have to be prepared to pony up a good draft pick.
