Quote3030 It's not complicated. It's just the same thing McVay does except on Defense: Show the same basic formation on every down then before the snap change to the real formation. Except McVay likes to make his offensive call based on the defense moments before the helmet radio shuts off. He can't, so it falls in Goff's lap, and Goff can't read defenses fast enough before the play clock ruby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote3030 Martz used to fall into this pattern as well. You could just see the wheels turning in his head "If I do this, they'll counter with that. But they know that I know they'll counter. So if they know that I know that they know..." With that the HC/OC spirals into play calling overcomplication when a simple handoff would do quite well. Quotedodgerram Quotemax Go read Waldmans tweets. He explained what happened. A lot of it was on Goff. Teams know Goff can’t handle being put in pressure situations. McVay has to protect Goff because Goff isn’t capable of processing fast enough. Goff is a good QB. He had a horrible game yesterday . All QBs will have games like that occasionally. Even the all time greats. What irks me: McVby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotenapoli Miami have been competitive every game. The blew the doors off the 9ers and now the Rams. Rams have many issues. Blaming one player isn't right. Mcvay game plan was terrible which let to the weakness of this offense. Cya in 2 weeks. Look at the stats and tell me why we lose this game? This was about as winnable as a game as you can have in the NFL and yet we get blown out. Yby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
At some point as an offense you just have to lineup and play ball no matter what you are facing. The constant outguessing your opponent and finding just the exact play to counter is getting ridiculous. It gets to the point where you are reacting instead of attacking. You have to have faith in your execution that your players will do their job regardless of the coverage or defensive alignment. Weby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Damage is done in my book even if they make some adjustments that is great but doesn't make up for the inconsistent games they have put on display. This team isn't going anywhere we these type of performances.by nicecatchellard - Game Time Forum
You can scheme wrs open but good receivers get open by their routes regardless. This team is what is this year inconsistent playoffs are not happening in are tough division.by nicecatchellard - Game Time Forum
Good article crazy legs with 17td in one year is amazing for the time he played in. Also the amount of games they played was far less than today's 16 game schedules. Today's numbers are so inflated with all the new rules and emphasis on the passing game and scoring in general. I agree with the top 5 choices as these players were all great impact players and long time ram classics. To me Bruce wasby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Quote3030 Maybe Hill, but the other 4 represent better value on the roster if we are serious about a playoff run. (And I think we are!) You'd have to blow me away with an offer before I'd let them go. Then again, Marcus Peters. I could see trading Brian Allen or Samson Ebukam, A bag of candy corn? QuoteLMU93 They'd get maybe a 7th for him and I'd rather keep him for the second half and playoffs instead. He has a lot of value as an inside runner, pass blocker and team leader. He's on pace for 600+ yards and 6 rushing TDs, so I wouldn't dismiss the idea that he could get signed elsewhere and net the Rams a 2022 7th round pick. Would we get a 7th round pick though if we let him walk? Sby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe we will get nothing for him next year unless we resign him. He is UFA in 2021 so no draft compensation I believe I'm not an expert on this. Also he was undrafted. If we could get a 5th rounder or player would it be worth it?by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn Quoteden-the-coach In pass protection and near the goal line, would not be shocked if there was an extension. We see what Brown is. He's a tough, straight ahead short yardage runner with smarts, tenacity, though not much wiggle but he gets yards anyway. And he is getting 4.2 a carry. That all has value. There's no one else like him in the RB room. I agree I like Brown but he has vby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
I've heard rumblings about philly being a possible trade partner for Brown. I like to have him for a run later on but he has injury history and tends to be worn out late in the season.by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Malcolm brown trade makes sense akers is clearly the future second or starting back and they liked xavier jones a lot also. Brown won't be resignable next year get some value for him while he is not hurt might not be a bad idea. Sorry this should have been a reply to the trade thread it posted as a new one my fault.by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Since your not getting the calls yes you do need to lobby for it. Obviously he gets hit in the head just about every game and face mask tugged. There is a difference between whiney on no calls and being assertive on obvious calls. The biggest PI call in the new orleans game wasn't called because wide receiver didn't sell the call to the refs.by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote73Ram I saw a gritty performance against a tough Chicago D. Hell he even got hit/tugged on the face mask. No call again. I put those no calls on Goff he doesn't sell them to the refs like Brady, Rodgers, etc. He rarely fights for penalties. I did see him signal a PI call that he got but other than that he never fight for them.by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
I like goff he had a solid game against a good defense. Nothing spectacular and that seems to be his winning formula. If we put the game all on Goff he doesn't usually wow us with some exception games KC. When he can manage a game we usually succeed.by nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Your memory serves you well: Reynolds in 2018: "According to Pro Football Focus, of his 49 targets, only 29 were catchable. He caught every single one, never dropping a pass." In 2019 he was charged with 1 drop on 43 targets. And so far this year: no drops on 12 targets. (Note: this is thru 4 games.) It's that deemed catchable part early in his career rby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteramBRO Any reason why we haven't seen that type of play attempted before over the past couple of seasons? And what was up with that wounded duck Goff lofted up there? It's been tried before but reynolds usually drops them or can't get into the right position. He has not been a natural jump ball guy in the nfl although in college he was very successful. Hopefully he has turned the corner anby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram They did stink it up but its still one game. Are the chiefs in trouble because they lost to the raiders? Bills have now lost 2 in a row. Do you think they are still a pretty good team? Were only a quarter through the season there are likely to be many more ups and downs. Yeah we are going in to our tough part of the schedule now that's what worries me. QuotePHDram To look at the season as a whole and not base everything an the last game played. Yeah..they sucked last night. You've seen them play better. Don't get caught up in the highs and lows. It's been three in a row to our most hated division rival though. As far as the season goes we haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet either. This was a very winable game for us and we stunby nicecatchellard - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit This thing where they let guys run free and try to tackle them before they get the first down. Is that supposed to be some kind of a zone or something? I guess they are not comfortable matching DBs up one on one and I can't say I blame them after watching Kittle beat one of our CBs on a slant AND out run him to the end zone. Quotepromomasterj We didn't bring it. The players looked flat. But still, in the end - we were one stop from a chance to maybe tie. It was a letdown for sure, but it happens. Ask the Packers. Or Patriots. Or chiefs 2 weeks ago. A lot of this board seems to be of the opinion that after last night - McVay and Staley have no idea what they're doing. Goff is a disaster. QuoteLMU93 I'm not sure any new issues cropped up. They tackled poorly and had kicking issues again- same two major issues I think they have had for 6 games now. But I think in this case the rest of the team being flat didn't allow them to make up for those issues.
