He started 75 percent of his games. Why would you consider that a bad pick?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
again, i made no claim about "unilateral" or "uber" or "sole decider". further i agreed it is a "collaborative process" . even further i think "directs" is pretty clear. it seems ad tho you want to downgrade the meaning of the word just to fit your own agenda. Nevertheless its pretty clear it indicates that snead has final say on personnel matterby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
the bio may be incorrect but it directly contradicts your assertions. you said... "Does not mean he makes the personnel DECISIONS". the bio directly states, "In his role as general manager, Snead partners with Head Coach Sean McVay to direct all personnel decisions" "He actually has nothing to do with football operations" again the bio states, "Sneadby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
the exact opposite of what you just claimed but whatever. In his role as general manager, Snead partners with Head Coach Sean McVay to direct all personnel decisions for the club. In addition, Snead coordinates all aspects of the club’s football operations with the head coach. He also joins forces with C.O.O/Executive Vice President of Football Operations Kevin Demoff and Vice President, Footbby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree but but it does say "to direct all personnel decisions for the club" so to me that means they coordinate on all football operations but snead directs the personal. To use your example hes the "director".by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
based on the number of decisions that must be made to put a football team together it is almost inconceivable that the good-natured trio of mcvay snead and demoff have unanimously agreed on every decision over a 3 year period. someone needs the authority to "make the decision". it seems obvious.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
that Snead does not run the team, I was just pointing out my interpretation of what the poster meant. if you had a different one thats fine.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i was asking snowman.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
whats wrong with you guys. a quarter of football is more than enough. cut him.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i didnt take that remark to mean the poster literally meant that snead ran the entire team. as you said. "its obvious"by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
that Snead does not run the TEAM. Isnt it? Did anyone dispute that. I don't know if anyone would ever dispute that, it's so obvious. I disagree with your position on personnel decisions but Im not going to rehash it again. Mcvay doesnt sound happy with Jamil "(OL) Jamil (Demby) is another guy that I think we expect a lot better from him than that, especially when he is playing that center spot."by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Has anyone discussed Brewer. He played the second most snaps on offense last week. Is he making the case to make the roster?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i am into this stuff. im kind of a draft nerd. and i agree the numbers look reasonable so i have not reason to doubt them. as i noted however i have some problem with more than 50 percent of games started as a metric to indicated success. lets take case keenum as an example. first, the metric is not as straight forward as one may think. according to Pro Football Reference case started 54by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
agreed i tried to say that above but maybe u said it better.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i dont know if the percentages are accurate but i agree with much of what you said. im certain i have my own biases as well. thats why id like to see some objectivity introduced into these assessments. a "consistent starter" is definitely one way to measure success in the league but there is an inherent bias in the measurement in that some teams are better then others so a consistentby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'll assume the rankings you present are accurate but I'd prefer to see the distribution and average. I'm not suggesting you go collect it but if you have it it would provide a rough estimate as to what one would expect from a 2nd round te. Anything above the average would be good and anything below the average would be bad. Ideally we would do the same with blocking but that's likely hard to coby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe your right. Maybe mine are too. Idk. I'd like to see the draft community develop a better way of measuring success.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i dont remember a single play from 5 or 6 years ago. lolby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
and i dont discount kendricks as a run blocker. im just not sure its wise to take a run blocking te as high as a mid 2nd. do you think it is good value to get the 11th best out of 60 or so blocking tes with a mid 2?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
agreed there is little objective criteria which is what makes an assessment of a draft even years later difficult. but that doesnt mean its cant be done. further i never said kenricks was a bust. i think he was ok as a player overall. but when you take into account his draft position, i dont believe his production meets expectations. moreover, im not persuaded by the opinions of others (btwby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
yeah...quinn was good but not much after that and our record reflected it.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
when u fine a stat that measures blocking let me know. im working with hat is provided. that being said...we know from following the draft that in general pass catching tes go high while blocking tes go low. no one drafts the top blocking te in the first round, unless he of course can also catch the @#$%& out of the ball. so a blocking te with a high second is a bad pick imo. shrugby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Im doing the exact opposite. Im introducing objectivity into the assessment by suggesting there should be a certain level of expectation per round. i fail to see how that is an excuse. its called a performance based measurement system. feel fee to look it up. in fact, i see being content with a player such as kendricks as a high second round pick as an "excuse" for poor draftingby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
if you want to expect the same out of a 1st rounder as you do a 7th thats up to you, but im not sure most people do. generally speaking, i think most people expect starters out of rounds 1-3 and role players out of the latter rounds. their are some positional exceptions imo, like guards for example. i really have no idea what your point about quinn is. its irrelevant as to where he was "by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesnowman Kendricks has played eight years in the league and is under contract for 2019. He has 91 career starts and has played H-Back. His career stats are comparable to Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen and Ed Dickson who were taken around the #47 overall pick in the draft the year before and the year after. Sounds like a good role player to me. coby fleener has caught more passes in 6 years thenby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
im not sure "a good role player/2nd TE type" is what you want out of the 47th pick in the draft. at least it is not what i want. if were grading pass/fail. i would give that pick a fail. if he was picked in the 5th, then its a pass.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
