There is nothing quite like a playoff head butt to set you straight. Let's go play some bonus football and add to the Lions' playoff woes. GO RAMS! KKKKRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The things I see about the three HOFers: AD was a stud and impacted the game in every way imaginable. BWagz was past him prime and did not impact the game like he did earlier in his career. Ramsey was still playing at a high level but the other 3 or 4 (when in nickel) or 5 (when in dime) DBs weren't particularly good in coverage. If the Rams pressed last year Ramsey most likely could hby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That could be part of the answer. Another part could be that the Rams were winning (or at least close) in most of their games this season, making teams stick with their passing game a bit more. Teams attempted 583 passes against the Rams this year, only 531 last year. 41 sacks in 583 pass attempts this year works out to a 7.03% sack rate. Last year the team had 38 sacks for a sack rate of 7by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The NFL hasn't been tax-exempt since 2015. On April 28, 2015, the National Football League announced that it would voluntarily give up its not-for-profit tax-exempt status, a status the league has held since 1942. After a yearlong study conducted by the league’s financial committee, the decision was submitted to the 32 team owners, who voted in favor of abandoning the league’s tax-exempt statby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
So far, the NFL seems to be doing OK. "NFL regular-season games averaged 17.9 million viewers in 2023, tied for the second highest since averages were first tracked in 1995."by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Snyder sold the team to an investment group led by Josh Harris in July. Harris also owns the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Good question ramBRO, but I have a variation on your theme: If ESPN/NBC wanted to spotlight the Rams' kicking issue and, in particular, Brett Maher...do you think that that type of spotlight would increase or decrease viewership? My answer: it would decrease viewership. And that, IMO, is why the media doesn't do anything with this story. The whole point of the media is to sell advertiby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Lions are on a 9 game losing streak in the playoffs, the longest active playoff losing streak in any major sport in the US and also the longest such streak in NFL history.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
And just like that, I hate Seattle a little bit less today than I did yesterday. (Although it was fun watching the Rams wipe that smug look off of Petey's face every time they beat the Seahawks ...)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I see what you did there. And I like it! :)-Dby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I can see where the total yards given up can be skewed by having a lousy pass defense because as you say team will just pass on them all day. But would yards per carry be skewed? I ask because the Lions have the third stingiest run defense in the league based on yards per carry.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Take a look at the Rams' 2023 schedule and tell me if there is a more battle tested team in the playoffs. If they aren't mentally prepared for the task ahead of them I don't know how they ever will be. It has been well documented that the Rams played 8 games against this year's playoff teams. But they also won 4 games that helped eliminate three teams from the playoffs (Seattle twice, theby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
There are a lot of Rams games that aren't on network television where I live. If a Rams game was only available on Peacock I would exactly the same thing I do when it's a Fox game I don't get: stay home and stream it or go to a Sports bar. In all honesty I fail to see the difference.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Going on memory, I think the Rams get the parking, concessions, and advertising money when the Chargers play. (And the Chargers get the ticket revenue.)by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
If Alabama played FSU on a neutral field on Jan 1 who do you think would be favored? I think it would have been Alabama hands down. And that's why they were picked. The selection committee is charged with picking the best 4 teams at a point in time, not the 4 teams who had the best season. And that's what they did.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams and Packers both win in the Wild Card Round. The Divisional Round would then be Packers at 49ers and Rams at the winner of the Bucs-Eagles wild card game. Then, if the Rams and Packers win again? The Rams would host the NFC Championship Game.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotekw13 I'm assuming McVay will be doing a little talking into his ear like he used to do with Goff. Don't make it sound odd that McVay was in Goff's ear during the game. He does the same thing with Stafford, and any OC that isn't taking full advantage of the opportunity to talk to his QB until the radio cuts out is doing his team a disservice. This from Rodrigue's Jan 4 article in The Atby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's it! If the Rams win they remain the #6 seed. And if the Rams and Packers both lose the Rams hang on to the #6 seed. The Rams only drop to #7 if they lose and the Pack win. In an odd situation, the Rams potential opponents if they hang on to the #6 seed are Detroit, Dallas, and Philadelphia. And if the Rams drop to the #7 seed, their potential opponents are Detroit, Dallas, andby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Now consider this: if the Rams cut Noteboom and Allen they save $9.9M against the 2024 cap. They could do that, sign Dotson to the contract I laid out, and increase their cap space in 2024 by $2.9M.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The scout in question is Brian Hill. "According to The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue, Scout Brian Hill said if Logan Bruss was still on the board come the franchise’s pick at No. 104, he would jump in the pool at their draft headquarters. .... True to his word, Hill walked out to the pool, took his shoes off and jumped in fully clothed. " From that same article: "Accordinby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know that Dotson is worth $16M a year, but let's assume that's what the market dictates. The Rams could sign him for 4 years, $64M ($25M signing bonus) with minimal impact on the 2024 cap if they did something like this: 2024: $2M salary, $5M pro rated signing bonus: cap hit = $7M 2025: $9M salary, $5M pro rated signing bonus: cap hit = $14M 2026: $12M salary, $5M pro rated signinby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Silk purse out of a sows ear kind of situation? Even the best of coaches need a player with some talent to work with. I’m afraid that Bruss was a big draft mistake. I agree with you 100%. Now consider this: the guys who drafted Avila are the same guys who drafted Bruss. My point: the draft is a crap shoot under the best of circumstances. QuoteRamsDynasty Maybe Bruss was a bad pick. A bad scheme fit for our new approach but also a subpar pick for the old approach as well. Subpar OT's can contribute as OG's. Subpar OG's get cut eventually as should the swimming pool jumper(scout) who advocated for him. Thanks you for making my point: what if the Rams let Dotson go and the guy they draft to replace him ends up of the Bruss end ofby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Dotson was a 4th round pick in 2020, making this just his 4th year in the league. I know it's his contract year, but maybe it just took him a while to develop. (It happens to the best of them. This is Jackie Slater, a 3rd round pick in 1976: "Used primarily as a backup and special teams player during his first three seasons, Slater became the starting right tackle in 1979." Quoteroman18 The guy has been mis- judged IMO, He's led teams to a lot of wins, he's thrown a bunch of TD's, he's huge, he has a big time arm.. I know Wentz is a big guy but I wasn't sure exactly how big. He measured 6' 5 1/4" at the combine and weighed in at 237 lbs. I wouldn't be surprised if he's added a few pounds over the last 7 years. I heard similar things about Jalen Ramsey and even Baker Mayfield. Maybe maturing helps. Maybe a few years of humble pie. Maybe being in a locker room like the Rams where guys like AD, Stafford, and Kupp hold you accountable. Whatever it is I'm willing to judge Wentz solely on what he does (or doesn't do) while he's with the Rams and let the rumors go to the rumor graveyard.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Analysts keep trying to draw an analogy between Puka's situation this year and Gurley's in 2017. There is a big difference, though, as I see it. Puka's objectives are well defined. 5 catches. 29 yards. In theory Puka only has to play 5 snaps. Practically speaking it is mostly likely going to be more than that, but will it take 10 plays? 15? And what will Puka be doing on plays where hby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
After seeing DCs like Staley, Rivera, and Saleh struggle as head coaches I can see where teams might shy away from giving Morris a shot. Maybe not to the point of locking him out of a HC gig, but certainly limiting his options.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
