The Rams were 8th in the NFL in TD percentage in the red zone. . That just squeaks into the top quartile, certainly room for improvement, but already better than 75% of the league.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm with you. A lot has been made of McCarthy winning 12 games in each of the last 3 seasons, but on today's episode of Get Up on ESPN, Orlovsky pointed out that over the last 3 seasons the Cowboys are only 13-15 against teams with a winning record. In addition it was pointed out that against winning teams the Cowboys gave up 29 points a game this season (which is 30th in the league).by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRam_Ruler Love him so MLB but I wonder if we could use a Jeremiah Trotter Jr type next to him that can fly to the ball and cover more. According to this article "... the Rams’ base defense has been a 3-3-5 which is your standard nickel package". The takeaway is the the Rams' base defense only needs 1 ILB. Also from that same article: "In 2021 and 2022, they lined up inby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
It'll be interesting to see what the Saints do this year. What I did was just an exercise to see how hard it would be for the Saints to get under the 2024 cap; I'm sure they will end up with a plan that is far less damaging to their future caps.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Saints are likely going to have to trade a player or two in order to begin to get their cap in shape. If the Rams can benefit from the Saint's woes I am all in.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteStafford9 I have always liked taking a QB in the first and having him sit. I am with you on that but I have a different perspective on timing. With any luck the Rams are on the verge of another run at the SB. I hope that run is successful, but whether it is or not the Rams will at some point go thru another rebuild/remodel (or whatever you want to call it). It would be my preference tby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteStafford9 Green Bay is the best example of taking a QB and having him sit for years.. I posted this yesterday in a different thread yesterday but it works hers, too; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's the argument against following that GB model. This piqued my interest so I took a look. Not only are the Saints $82M over the cap in 2024, they are also $38.7M over the cap in 2025! Any move the Saints make to restructure anyone's contract will make their 2025 situation even worse. But they will have to restructure some deals to comply with the 2024 cap and then go thru this again next year. Derek Carr's cap hit in '24 is $35.7M.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Here's the argument against following that GB model. GB drafted Love in 2020. Love made the team but was inactive for every single game that season. Meanwhile, the Packers made it to the NFC Championship game that season & lost to the Bucs 31-26. Would the Packers have won that game if they drafted someone who could have actually helped them in 2020? In 2021 Love played 131 snaps wiby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I am with you 100%. And if the Rams did bring Bones back I'd put a "don't do that again" clause in his contract. That was a huge mistake, but it shouldn't be fatal.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
How many coaches could have gotten 10 wins out of this team? Seems like a pretty short list and McVay is obviously on it.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I certainly don't know the whole story, but the time Bones called a fake punt from somewhere around the Rams 20 yard line seemed to really piss McVay off.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
For me this game was like buying a Snickers bar from a vending machine and having two of them drop into the bin. A playoff game for this team, this season, was an unexpected bonus. That free Snickers bar somehow tastes better than the one I paid for. I kind of get that same feeling watching the Rams in a playoff game that 4 months ago seemed like a pipe dream. Could they have won this gameby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

The things I see about the three HOFers: AD was a stud and impacted the game in every way imaginable. BWagz was past him prime and did not impact the game like he did earlier in his career. Ramsey was still playing at a high level but the other 3 or 4 (when in nickel) or 5 (when in dime) DBs weren't particularly good in coverage. If the Rams pressed last year Ramsey most likely could hby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That could be part of the answer. Another part could be that the Rams were winning (or at least close) in most of their games this season, making teams stick with their passing game a bit more. Teams attempted 583 passes against the Rams this year, only 531 last year. 41 sacks in 583 pass attempts this year works out to a 7.03% sack rate. Last year the team had 38 sacks for a sack rate of 7by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The NFL hasn't been tax-exempt since 2015. On April 28, 2015, the National Football League announced that it would voluntarily give up its not-for-profit tax-exempt status, a status the league has held since 1942. After a yearlong study conducted by the league’s financial committee, the decision was submitted to the 32 team owners, who voted in favor of abandoning the league’s tax-exempt statby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Good question ramBRO, but I have a variation on your theme: If ESPN/NBC wanted to spotlight the Rams' kicking issue and, in particular, Brett Maher...do you think that that type of spotlight would increase or decrease viewership? My answer: it would decrease viewership. And that, IMO, is why the media doesn't do anything with this story. The whole point of the media is to sell advertiby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

I can see where the total yards given up can be skewed by having a lousy pass defense because as you say team will just pass on them all day. But would yards per carry be skewed? I ask because the Lions have the third stingiest run defense in the league based on yards per carry.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Take a look at the Rams' 2023 schedule and tell me if there is a more battle tested team in the playoffs. If they aren't mentally prepared for the task ahead of them I don't know how they ever will be. It has been well documented that the Rams played 8 games against this year's playoff teams. But they also won 4 games that helped eliminate three teams from the playoffs (Seattle twice, theby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
There are a lot of Rams games that aren't on network television where I live. If a Rams game was only available on Peacock I would exactly the same thing I do when it's a Fox game I don't get: stay home and stream it or go to a Sports bar.
