Re: I doubt it

Here's the argument against following that GB model.

GB drafted Love in 2020. Love made the team but was inactive for every single game that season. Meanwhile, the Packers made it to the NFC Championship game that season & lost to the Bucs 31-26. Would the Packers have won that game if they drafted someone who could have actually helped them in 2020?

In 2021 Love played 131 snaps with 1 start (a 13-7 loss to the Chiefs) and 5 relief appearances. Meanwhile, the Packers made the playoffs: they had a 1st round bye and lost in the Divisional Round to the 49ers 13-10. Would the Packers have won that game if they drafted someone else instead of Love?

In 2022 Love played 26 snaps (4 relief appearances, no starts) and the Packers missed the playoffs by one game. Maybe they would have made the playoffs if they drafted someone else instead of Love?

And now in 2023 Love takes the Pack to the playoffs and wins a game.

So the GB model taken at face value is to draft a QB in 2024 who would win a playoff game in 2027. But the Rams stated plan is to make a run next year, and an even stronger run in 2025. Drafting a QB who will ride the bench for 3 years won't help them do that.
