It's not just guys playing better, its also different guys playing. Gaines now starts at NT, used to be Joseph-Day. And Hoecht has replaced Banks in the rotation. Miller starts at OLB in place of Hollins, Hollins is a sub now instead of Lawler, Lewis has disappeared. Ernest Jones starts at ILB instead of Young, and Jones stays on the field in nickle instead of Reeder. Kiser's no longerby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree 100% that it was an ugly win. It happens ... and it's way better than a pretty loss in my book.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Kupp has 18 fair catches this season. And 1 punt return. On that one punt return the ball hit the ground, Kupp caught the ball on the bounce, and scampered out of bounds untouched for an 8 yard gain. When Kupp is in there he isn't returning punts, he's fair catching punts. That being said, if Powell is the punt returner it wouldn't break my heart if he was in there for the fair catcheby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Vikings won they'd be 8-7 and the #6 seed in the playoffs! The Rams were favored by 3 and won by 7. But no style points ...:imsorryby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, Stafford had a crappy game today. But what were his problems against Jax, Ari, and Sea the last three weeks, especially in light of all the roster flux due to covid, lack of practice time, etc.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That was a 7 point win when they were favored by 3. What's not to like?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Rams can play a crap game (which they did) and still score 30 points on the road, short handed, against a playoff-caliber team ... I'm kinda not going to complain. I will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day of the week, and when I look at the standings and see the Rams at 11-4, top of the NFC West, #2 seed (pending the Cowboys game) - well I am one happy Rams fan.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The stars are lining up, gifting the Rams first place in the NFC West along with the #3 seed in the playoffs. This team is peaking at the right time: let's put a nail in the Viking's coffin and take a big step on the Super Bowl path today!!! GO RAMS!! BEAT THOSE VIKINGS!! I'm not sure the NFL is as concerned about the health of the players as they are about pitching in to slow the spread of covid, under the theory that if your not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. From an article published three days ago: "U.S. under siege from COVID-19 as hospitals overwhelmed before holidays" From an article published yesterday: "Airlby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Unless the NFL switched tests (and there's no reason to think they did) a test that is 'too sensitive' would have been too sensitive in Sept, Oct, and Nov. Not just now. What seems more likely to me is that the Omicron variant is being passed around: it is way more contagious than Delta, which was already more contagious than Alpha As to Whit testing positive after having had covid in Juby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Just one more reason why OBJ won't back next season. For a few million dollars the Rams got someone to ease the pain of Woods' injury and then next year they get a comp pick when OBJ leaves. I'm sure glad the Rams got him. Don't really think I'll miss him, though ...by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Kupp will be 29 next year & he's signed thru 2023 on a contract that pays him an average if $15.75M a year ... which is currently 15th in the league, but will fall even further as FA WRs sign in 2022 and 2023 and jump ahead of him. Woods will be 30 next year & he's signed thru 2025 on a contract that pays him an average if $16.25M a year ... which is currently 11th in the league, andby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
In addition to trying to win the SB, OBJ is also playing for his next contract. He's a FA after the season and if he's as smart as McVay says he is OBJ has to know that if he toes the line for the rest of the year he's in line for a big payday in the offseason. If he really needs to be 'the man' he'll just sign with someone else next year (and send the Rams a comp pock in the process) ... bby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I for one agree with Rock when he says that officials get the vast majority of calls correct. That being said, we can sit on our couch and tell just by watching a replay on TV that the refs blew that interference call. I don't know why the NFL can't have an official in a sky box or in NY call down to the ref and say "Throw the flag - that was pass interference". That would make tby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Don't have a link but I just saw this on ESPN2. Over the last three weeks Kupp has the 2nd most scrimmage yards in the league with 389 ... and Michel is 4th with 323. Rounding out the top 4: Kittle is first with 430 & Javonte Williams is 3rd with 342.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Running back is a tough position and I am glad the Rams have a few good ones. I don't think Henderson is the classic bell cow that some teams have. But I don't think Akers or Michel are, either. To me it doesn't make any sense to rag on Hendo for missing two games without also recognizing that he's been available for the other 12 while Akers will end up missing all 17. I mean, who's been lesby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Henderson didn't get a start in 2019 playing behind Todd Gurley. But since Gurley left Henderson has started 21 times in 26 games (81% of the time). Akers has 5 starts in 13 career games (31%). Michel has 32 starts in 52 games (62%).by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
It seems that covid isn't contagious after 10 days even if someone is still testing positive. From this article: But what if someone still tests positive after 10 days? This is very common. People who have tested positive for COVID-19 are very likely to continue to test positive after 10 days. But they are not contagious.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay had previously said that everyone on the team was vaccinated. Rams coach Sean McVay has said that to his knowledge, all but one player on the roster has received the COVID-19 vaccine, and that the player who did not has since gained antibodies. (Note: Garrett was the exception). As a vaccinated player Havs would have been activated if he tested negative twice, 24 hrs apart. Havingby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Noteboom at tackle = good Noteboom at guard = not so good Edwards has allowed 4 sacks this year, tied for 12th in the league. Considering there are 64 guards in the NFL that puts him in the top 20%.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams are his 4th team this season after being released by the Chiefs, Saints, and Dolphins. Seems like he's a marginal player at this point, and apparently the Rams like who they have behind Allen better than Reiter. (Shelton for sure, possibly Corbett, Anchrum, and/or Brewer as well).by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Henderson missed 3 games in 2019, 1 in 2020, and 2 so far this year. He's played in 87% of the Rams' games since he was drafted. Akers missed 3 games in 2020 and all of 2021. By the end of this season he'll have played in 13 of a possible 33 games, or 43%. Michel missed 3 games in 2018 and another 7 in 2020, didn't miss a game is 2019, hasn't missed one this year. He's played in 76%by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I have now re-watched that play quite a few times. IMO if Kupp got knocked off his route OBJ could well have made a TD catch on that play. But when you watch Stafford you can see he's looking Kupp's way when he throws. That's the key for me: the pass was intended for Kupp all the way.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
