Like you, I think it's possible that the Rams could host the NFC Championship game of they hang onto that #2 seed. Although it's not likely that GB would lose at home to Dallas or Tampa Bay, stranger things have happened. However, it would be three home playoff games for the Rams if it comes to that, not 2: Wild Card game, Division game, and Championship game.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's a great piece - thanks for the heads-up!! I just texted this to all my favorite Rams fans, based entirely on that article: The Rams just played 4 games in 21 days in three different time zones: at Arizona, Seattle (delayed 2 days - Covid), at Minnesota, and at Baltimore. In that stretch they had 40 players, coaches, and staff go on the Covid list. Most in the NFL. Arizona cby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The players vote for team captains. Apparently they think he's a leader cuz he got the 'C' last year and this year ...by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I was wondering about the discrepancy and just assumed they were measuring different things ... but I didn't know what. I really appreciate that info. I know there are things the Rams can do to get up to $40M or $50M in cap space, but I'm not so sure they want to go that far. Historically Snead & co. have operated on more of a pay-as-you-go plan. I think they'll do a couple restructuresby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, the cap goes up to $208.2M next year. And the Rams do shed the dead money from both Goff and Gurley. But they also have a half dozen guys who will make a combined $73.35M more in 2022 than they did in 2021. That will eat up pretty much all of that recovered dead money and all of the increase in the cap. I think the $1.89M is pretty accurate. According to the Rams are currently $1.89M under the 2022 cap (although they will create more space with restructures, extensions, and/or cuts). Thanks for the first-hand report. Always good getting a point of view from a fellow Rams fan, letting us see the game thru your eyes. There are a few places where it's kind of fun wearing the 'wrong' colors ... especially when you can walk out with the 'W'. Also, Stafford can audible at the line of scrimmage. How do any of us know whether Stafford ran the play that McVay called?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm almost positive that the NFL is going to want the Rams/49ers game and the Cardinals/Seahawks game to be played at the same time. If the Rams game is flexed to Saturday and they beat the 49ers then the Cards game has no playoff implications. The Cards would be the 5th seed whether they win or lose ... which means they would have an opportunity to rest players if they want, giving them a poby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRustyRay All Stafford really has to do is understand the check-down isn't a bad thing, Case in point: this screen shot below (after the youtube link) is from the play where Stafford threw the int trying to get the ball to OBJ. Jefferson is uncovered and I'm 99% sure he would have picked up the 1st down. Watch the play - nobody even covered Jefferson.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemoklerman ... 19 points allowed on the road is still not the worst thing in the world. Especially when 7 of those points were off a pick 6. The defense gave up 12 points today.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Fantasy Pros keeps track of a stat they call Deep Ball Passing. According to them, Stafford has 154 passes that traveled more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage (10 air yards) while Jackson has 112. Stafford has 58 passes that have traveled 20+ air yards, Jackson 41. At 30+ air yards: Stafford 25, Jackson 13. 40+ air yards? Stafford 17, Jackson 5. QuoteRamsfan1971 Do you think they will continue to kick the can down the road by doing similar tactics until the window closes on this talented squad or are they forced to meet some of those obligations now because of salary cap rules? "... you seem to have this thing all figured out." I wish. We have a number of posters who really 'get' the cap and as a math guy I soak it all up anby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
You might think so. But, no. The Rams pushed a lot of salary out of 2021 and into 2022 and beyond because they had so much dead money in 2021. For example ... Donald's salary this year is $1.9M. Next year it's essentially $14.25 ($5M roster bonus plus $9.25M salary). Ramsey makes $1.5M this year, $15M next year. Woods makes $2.5M this year, $13.5M next year ($3.5M bonus + $10M saby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

That's consistent with what I've seen. And in addition to those 4 comp picks the Rams also get a 3rd round pick in 2022 from when the Lions hired Holmes as their GM. This looks like an accurate list of the Rams' picks for 2022: Own draft picks 5th round pick 7th round pick 7th round pick (via Miami Dolphins from Aqib Talib trade) Compensatory draft picks 3rdby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I use overthecap for salary and cap data and their numbers for Whit are similar. $4M salary in 2021 but $7.5M(!) in 2022 ... plus a $5.5M roster bonus(!!!). That $13M the Rams will owe Whit in 2022 under the current terms of his deal. And combined with $1.67M in prorated bonus his cap hit is $14.67M next year. The Rams can indeed save $13M of that if he retires or is cut. (The $1.67M prorateby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think if the question was 'Do you want to keep Boom, Allen, and Corbett?' I would of course say yes. But if someone laid out who the Rams wouldn't be able keep if they did that I might change my mind. Watching the Rams 2nd, 3rd, (and 4th?) string OL play over the last couple weeks makes me think the Rams have an abundance of riches in that room. Agree that Miller is gone. I think the Rams will have to choose between Allen and Corbett. I also thought Shelton looked good, but a.) I don't know how Shelton does with the line calls compared to Allen; b.) Concerned that once there's tape on Shelton teams will find a weakness in his game. And as a pro-bowl alternate maybe Allen's market value is higher than I think? Corbett might beby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

I love this post by Aram: From that post: Fwiw, Tom Brady is 3-1 in the playoffs when throwing 3+ interceptions! It kinda says that yes, teams can rise above a crappy performance by their QB in the playoffs ... and in the case of the Patriots they do it 75% of the time.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I should have provided a link. Here it is: And from that link it says 'Bad %' is the 'Percentage of bad throws per pass attempt, excluding spikes and throwaways'.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM And sure, all QB's make bad passes... but seems to me Stafford's % of poorly thrown balls runs a little higher that most top QB's. He really seems to come up VERY short on the deep passes too often. . FWIW Pro Football Reference keeps track of what they call 'Bad %'. There are only 9 QB's with a worse bad % than Stafford ... but 3 or those 9 are Mahomes, Brady, and Rodgers.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams' odds to win the Super Bowl went from +650 to +350 after they got Stafford. And that's all the Rams did was basically double their chances of winning. It's basically like buying two raffle tickets instead of one. That second ticket guarantees nothing, but it does double your chance of winning.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
