During the comeback Goff was decisive and got he ball out quick. I think there were at least 3 times where he had really quick pressure where he completed passes just before contract. He was not making those plays a few weeks ago. While the protection was better he burned the blitz a few times.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes I hate that there is a taint but I can live with it. The refs missed a bunch of calls and the face mask on Goff was just as blatant. Of course they missed 2 PI on NRC.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Amen those 2 and Higbee came up big.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff got better as the game went on. Made some tough plays under pressure. Maybe the nonsense about him being a system QB can be put to rest. Of course if he wins a Super Bowl they he starts to write his legend.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Refs were terrible. The missed the Pass Interference call and they missed the obvious face mask on Goff at the 1 yard line. Just terrible officiating but I am glad they won. Pats seem to be peaking at the right time.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great Team effort from all the units. Finally all units doing well. Worried about Gurley for Super Bowl. Congrats to all the Rams Fans and board members.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think their are others that may have an offensive system that will rival what McVay has done with the Rams. McVay is a genius at organizational management. McVay is a genius at leadership. McVay has a ton of contacts and can recruit great coaches. Replicating McVay is going to be tough and finding a brilliant coordinator only fill in 1 of 4 boxes.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams have so many weapons on offense that it is hard to say Higbee is under utilized. He and Everett are talented and have improved and make some big plays but they are not as consistent as Woods or Cooks. Reynolds, Higbee and Everett have all gotten more touches since Kupp went out but Kupp’s targets are spread across 3 people so the increase is not as significant to any individual. All tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Every QB is a systems QB to some extent. It takes a good offensive system and a good supporting cast for a QB to be successful. Teams that have really good quarterbacks take steps to surround them with good talent and run good offensive systems. Put Tom Brady in Jeff Fishers offensive scheme with a mediocre line and below average receivers and he will be a very average QB. But in NE they buildby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Pats have cheated and have been caught and fined. It is not exactly a news flash that the Pats cheat. Since they have been caught a few times already you have to wonder how many times they skirted the rules and didn't get caught? Do you really think that they were caught each time they cheated? They have probably broken the rules numerous times and to think they haven't is naive.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams rank 2nd among playoff contenders at defensive backfield and Linebacker. Linebacker has been the position many view as the Rams weakest position group. And Peters and Joyner are generally seen as disappointments. Many of us thought Defensive Line would be lights out this year but we are ranked 3rd. I think we deserve that ranking but with our talent we should be number 1. QB we arby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Is there an NFL Bias towards the Rams? Seems like the best strategy is to bring attention to this issue that way there will be a lot of eyes on the Ref. Maybe it affects how he calls the game.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
If you go back and look at the game against the Cards and 49ers you could see that the offensive line came out and did a great job. Maybe people discounted that but I expected that they would be good against Dallas and they were. NO is a tough place to get a win and if there are 8 in the box we may have to adapt but the O Line has gotten it MOJO back and we are playing physical again.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCROMWELL21 Trung Canidate (2000) and Robert Thomas (2002). Both 31st picks. Not good. Mike Martz was a terrible judge of talent when it came to drafting. GSOT was broken up due to Martz ego and gross incompetence of Front Office.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Alyo Do you agree that the strength of this draft is defense by a mile. Defensive line and backfield seem especially strong with some LB targeted for the first round. Who is your QB target in round 3? Do you like the kid from NC State? I am looking forward to your draft reports and it looks like round 3 could be a big one for us this year.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGlyndwr71 I don't doubt Wade knows more about football than we'll ever learn in 100 years, but... Might want to double team him all game next week. Just a suggestion. The guy is a beast.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Dallas played them well and is the model. They stopped the run and took away the short pass and pressured the heck out of Brees. Of course we may not have the players to cover tightly 1 on 1 deep. If we play the loose coverage that we used against Dallas Brees will pick us apart. Somehow we must disrupt his rhythm which is no easy task.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit . . . outside of major injuries. Offense: Run the football. Defense: Stop the opposing team from running the football. Everything else will take care of itself. We got away with a lot of soft coverage against Dallas. If we try that in New Orleans Brees will pick us apart. I agree with the rest.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Even a Sean McVay can’t do it all just by himself. There are 3 legs to this magical stool. IMO. Demoff provides outstanding negotiating and cap management skills. Snead is remarkable at learning precisely what kind of players that McVay wants and then acquires them time and again via draft, trade, and FA. Priceless. The prodigy McVay, after hiring superb asst coaches, thenby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I am impressed that McVay is so self critical and that he recognizes when he and the team miss the mark. McVay seems to be a guy that is continually looking at small changes that can lead to big results. Hence the are fine tuning and sharpening up on the fundamentals versus taking time off. Keep sharp and get healthy what a novel concept. McVay seems to have a capacity to always be grby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I really think that Fisher is his own biggest problem. His problem is that he is not self critical and has failed to adapt to the changes in the game. It is not like the offenses evolved over night. The entire NFL has geared the league to become a passing league. You need a great offensive system with you need really smart players to play in that system. Fisher wanted to play an offense thatby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
A big lead early would sure be nice. Dallas is not built for big comebacks though Prescott has admittedly played really well of late so nothing is a sure thing but certainly it is not the strength of the team. A nice big lead with lots of possession time on our side would be a good recipe for success. However I disagree that it is required for us to win. I do think the Rams defense has underperformed all season long with a few exceptions like Arizona early in the season. In fact the defense has not played well in a number of games and has been a huge concern since early in the season. However They have played pretty darn well since Talib has come back and while they still have trouble with QB that can run and big backs they have been effectiveby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think there are some really good reasons for signing Hav's to the extension. 1. Keep the line together for another year except for perhaps Safford if he doesn't resign. 2. We only have 1 more year left for Whit and Sully and need a guy that can provide some stability. 3. He is a really good RT. On the con side I do think we paid a higher than normal price to keep him although his conby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Kind of a #1 approach to slowing down the rush. I would think that you could catch for some big gains the if you used other misdirection plays. At a minimum you need to focus on getting the ball out quick. Last game was part McVay for a lousy game plan and part Goff for terrible execution and poor accuracy. I trust they will have a few tricks in store and will make adjustments much quickeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think McVay learned a lesson and will focus on getting the team to come out sharpe, focused and physically dominating.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Woods is signed through 2021 so we have him for at least 3 more seasons. He has turned out to be a great signing and very economical.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it tough to pick a team to root for this weekend. In fact I am rooting for the Cowboys because I don't like Seattle. I guess I would like to see the Eagles win but more so because I think they might give New Orleans a better game than either the Cowboys or Seattle. At the end of the day if we are going to go anywhere we are going to need to be 3 playoff teams and none of them willby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought Bruce was great and a great individual. He had 2 years in his prime where he had nagging hamstring issues or his stats would have been even more amazing. Until Warner he didn't get to play with a great QB either. Bruce, Dickerson, Deacon Jones are my all time favorites as each brought something unique to the table.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It is really telling how bad the offense was under Fisher. Every QB went on to post much much bigger numbers once they got out of that system. His years as a Rams coach were wasted due to his stubbornness and refusal to implement a modern day offense.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
