This should not be a surprise

The Rams need to see how their Salary Cap is going to shape up in 2020 and need to get all their big contracts resolved before negotiating with Goff. They will pick up his 5th year option which will be less costly than a new contract. Now they still may want to negotiate a new deal as the price of QB goes up each year. Right now the only thing in play is the timing and if they are going to negotiate it will be after the draft and probably after any Peters or Higbee deals are done.
