I think if the Rams stay a 31 they will pick the BPA from this group unless there is someone who really stands out from a value perspective then all bets are off.
For 2019 DL depth and a rotational capable player is needed. On the OL we need depth. Edge it seems is addressed but most of us still see that as a question. CB is a need for 2020 so we need someone to groom. I think the rams have value groupings of players and will pick the guy that they like the best in that group that fills a need. When things get interesting is when someone from a higher group falls into where you are picking and it doesn't match a outstanding need. If the difference is big then you pull the trigger. It think those types of situations happen more in rounds 3-7 than in the first 2 rounds. Usually when someone in Round 1 is falling there is a good reason behind it.
I wouldn’t completely rule out RB, TE, or even S at this point, depending on who fell.
This could be a pure BPA pick this year. QB is about the only position that can be completely ruled out at #31, IMO.
If they are worried about Gurley the RB becomes a much bigger need and deserves a one of our top picks. Safety seems pretty well covered this year and next that seems less likely. TE would be the next position I would put TE next on the list and if McVay is in love with Fant or Smith and they are there it might be too much for him to pass that up if they think it is a huge value.
