I was surprised since I thought the Rams never signed veteran safeties except minimum salary vets like JJ, so when they signed Kam Curl for more than chump change, I started thinking that they have a plan for him. Just like when they drafted Puka they imagined how he'd fit into their O, Curl may be that impact player on D. Like you, I'm looking forward to seeing him play as a LB/S hybrid nextby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
You missed Kam Curl as a veteran signing, a young 25 year old safety with a penchant for making tackles. in 2023 he had 141 total tackels (74 solo), 5 passes defended and a forced fumble. With all of the poor tackling in the secondary last year, Curl, D-Will and White (when healthy) will make an impact on our secondary including the short passing game. I was thrilled with Byron and Kobie's contby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com

So I just re-watched the attached and got more out of it. Definitely worth the watch (again) if you have time. Some things I liked include when Sean talks about including Pastoors in the trading up for Fiske. It really sounds like they made their offer starting with the 33rd pick and then they kept going until they found someone to trade with or Fiske got drafted. Interesting stuff.by RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
My misconceptions - I thought the strong side was where the TE lines up! But I see from your pics where you are coming from now. The CB who plays the short side (boundary) and one who plays the wide side (field cornerback) are new terms for me as well. But I totally agree on the following as keys to the way the Rams play D: 1. where is the passing strength? 2, where is the TE? 3. whichby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
so do the Rams play a form of strong/weak instead? That makes total sense but because I see edges as more pass rushers than coverage guys (Hoecht coverage aside), I mistakenly thought of the Rams playing left/right. Cam you help me understand the ways the Rams do play their defenses then? E.G Rams safeties play right / left (and not strong / weak) but edges are the opposite, right? Thx JYby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I'm bored and this sounds like minutia. But I'm really interested in whether Verse plays Right Edge or if Byron Young does. I read somewhere that Verse played 80-85% on the right versus the left in college, while the same could be said for Byron in 2023. If Verse has got games going with Fiske, then their familiarity with JV on the right may be where they are most comfortable. Canby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
Thx AlbanyRam - you read my mind on starting a separate thread on losing AD. My thoughts revolve around how AD was digressing (also reminded of this from Ram43). Kobie Turner actually took on more double teams than AD this year, plus I think that AD's size was always going to be a detriment as he got older. He was always getting opposing players best too - imagine if they could call outby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
I bet Jourdan knows about the other "pairings" but you are right - if the Rams picked turner or Murphy I bet they don't pick Fiske. At the very least they don't spend a future 2nd round pick ti move up to get him. Another thing I thought was interesting is if a 2nd round pick next year is equivalent to a 3rd round pick this year, then the Rams valued Corum/Kinchens greater than a 2nd rby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com

Does the stronger running game mean more rushing TDs in the redzone and less passing TDs for Stafford? He is such a team player that I can't see him worried about that, but if the focus is more on the rushing game, maybe he wants to ensure that - no matter if his stats are down - he gets paid. Either way I'd like the Rams to guarantee his salary for 2025. Just saying'by RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
IMHO that's why Darious Robinson surpassed Tutu - DR's catch radius is greater and therefore Matthew trusted him more. If MS isn't exactly on target, it's an incompletion. JMHOby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com

I tried having a discussion with those who are posting so frenetically but was told such-and-such many people like it (so I should keep my opinion to myself). I'm not as technical as many of you are on the football details, but I simply love the way Jourdan tells stories. This two part article really went into details that you just don't find elsewhere - like the reasons why the Rams don' typically conduct "30 visits" (because they frequently leak to the media), plus the fact that they send out a 'special assistant (who is former coach)' toby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
Jourdan posted an amazing article in which she got to travel around with Rams scouts for a year! This is part one of a fascinating article. Here's what I got out of it: - Snead is (still) not speaking up when scouts initially describe a prospect, not wanting to influence other's thoughts and bias the audience because he's GM - Rams do not attend the Senior Bowl because they can get all theby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com

If we're going to look at this entirely, then I think it's important to look at the whole picture. What got me going was that Snead/McVay made it intentional - trying to trade into the 33rd slot all the way to 39th where they finally found a taker. I have no qualms about this, especially with the trade for Kevin Dotson (a 4th for a 5th and a 5th for a 6th) that was highway robbery in favor ofby RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks MamaRama! Kiper had Kobie as not in his top 200 players, and Puka as a "reach" yet takes no flak for that this year. I appreciate your research!by RamsFanSince69 - RamsFootballFans.com

As he settled in for an introductory news conference Friday, it was difficult to ascertain what new Rams edge rusher Jared Verse was more excited about: His selection the night before with the 19th pick in the NFL draft? Round 1, No. 19: Jared Verse, DE, Florida State My take: The Rams had a clear need on the defensive line after defensive tackle Aaron Donald retired. General manager Les Snead said adding to that area of the field would be a priority at some point in the draft, but Los Angeles addressed the need right away by making Verse their first first-round pick since 2016. No. 83: Blake Corum, RB, Michigan Dane Brugler’s analysis Corum is smaller than ideal for his run style, but he makes quick, urgent decisions with the low center of gravity and burst to bounce runs or maneuver through congestion. His determination to maximize each carry will translate well to an NFL offense, although his effectiveness on third downs will determine his upside.
