i understand. it just amazes me that some people are so influenced by the highs and lows that they fail to see the big picture. moreover so many people expect these guys to come in (like grob for example) and play like 5 years vets just because they were a high draft pick. i know some guys do, but that simply is not always or even usually the case.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
agreed. i didnt catch the game yet. will watch it tonight on replay. did he play end or tackle in the game?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
had a qb rating of 111 this preseason ranking him 6th. so there is at least some room for optimism.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
at 6 3 270, I wonder if Fox would be better suited to add 20 lbs and play inside? any thoughts?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I assumed that coming from the offense that he did, that goff would take some time to develop (wentz too given his level of competition). would i like to see more? sure but im in this for the log haul. if he needs a year im totally fine with that. id much rather have a guy that takes time to develop then a 1 year flash in the plan ala rg3. moreover i like what ive seen from CK and Mannion hasby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
werent "we" just talking a few months ago how mannion was a wasted 3rd pick? he didnt look particularly good as a rookie and we all know that no football player improves over time.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
what eye is that? your eye? The poster asked about the division of labor regarding the qb reps. Your response is off target and suggests instead suggests that lynch is being coached better than goff. its certainly possible that kubiak is a better qb coach then fisher. but i dont think fisher is actually coaching the qbs. Moreover, it is pure speculation. none of us are on the field or in tby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
from what the rams are doing with goff? other than the fact that jeff fisher and company are all idiots, the difference seems to be simply a matter a perspective.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
you proclaim that goff is the starter whether he is ready or not just to let him reps with the ones? call me crazy, but the thought of making him earn the position as well as not setting him up for failure by putting him in before hes ready is a good idea. plus, perhaps im selfish, but i want to win now. im very happy we have goff and i look forward to him eventually leading this team butby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
idk...i think its been demonstrated that you need a good qb to win in this league and teams that dont have one need to do anything they can to find one. you clearly dont think goff is that guy and thats fine. perhaps you are right. but im totally fine with what they gave up for him. on a side note, if its your opinion can it be clear? lol! Quotedodgerram QuotePHDram perhaps Goff is notby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
perhaps Goff is not as good as say same bradford or RGIII who were NOT considered reaches when they were drafted, but none of them were in THIS draft. The question is whether Goff would have went anywhere near where he went had the rams passed. While I dont the the answer definitively, the talk around draft time was that he was going top 5. While I guess it can be a bad choose its not a reach.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
so you didnt see any improvement in the offensive output with CK over the last 4 games or during the preseason (for what its worth)?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
is are trying to find evidence to support your conclusion that Fisher is a terrible offensive coach. rather than looking at the evidence first. The simple fact is that there are numerous reasons why goff isnt ready to play now only one of which is that the coaching is poor. Its very possible that they just prefer to take a different path then the more recent examples because they think itsby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm pretty sure dilfer would disagree since he appears to love himself some Trent dilfer but I agree that those are cks best attributes.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
So where do you think Goff would have been drafted if Fisher didn't take him at 1?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
They prefer to take a different path then some other coaches. Fisher took mcnair at 3 (I think) and brought him along slowly. Drawing on that experience probably explains his approach to Goff. In addition as pointed out by others most overall #1s go to horrible teams often with new coaches. The rams are neither and poised to win. So why not let the stopgap guy play until he proves he can'tby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
perhaps youre right... but last year he moved the the team and they looked better offensively then under foles. and this preseason the team has continued to look good under him. i know its preseason so who cares but hes qb rating is 111. i know goff will eventually take over but id rather see ck until he is "ready".... warner may be a once in a lifetime story but your responseby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
at least im not. what i am saying is that he is an average qb who can win some games with a good team around him while goff continues to get acclimated to the nfl. and just out of curiosity if warner was "that" good why did the packers let him go? my guess is that he wasnt "that" good at "that" time. in other words, he improved with time and experience. and nby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
In 2014 he was waived by the Texans, and claimed by the Rams. He spent most of the season on the Rams’ practice squad before being signed to Houston’s 53-man (Gary Kubiak likes the guy but i guess he doesnt "KNOW" football either). He played in the Texans’ final two games, both wins. The rams then went out and traded for him BECAUSE they liked what they saw of him previously. Moreoveby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i hate to point out the obvious but ck has thrown more then 24 passes this preseason. the difference is that YOU AND I have only seen 24 passes. the coaching staff has seen much more. however, they did not change their mind imo. They knew it would take goff some time to transition and wanted CK around to bridge that gap, expecially given the talent of this team at other positions. it happenby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
of course they are and both are valid points of view. imo CK is no superstar but a a guy that can win some games with talent around him much like trent dilfer in baltimore. also i dont think they mortgaged anything. in fact we are missing a first rounder next year and thats about it. moreover we are in good shape salary cap wise to make up for the missing picks. overall we needed a qb.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
The point is that our record with CK is not going to be good enough to make the playoffs. Posters here can point to all types of stats and claim that the Rams would have been 3-4 games better with him last year if he started the whole season. That's hypothetical nonsense. CK is nothing more than a backup QB and THAT is why the Rams made the drastic move in the draft. IF they thought that Keenum wby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com

the qb is the key. that is why the rams went out and acquired a "franchise" qb. at least that is what they hope they acquired one. in addition they drafted higbee who will hopefully live up to the hype he is getting. and im sure they are aware that wr is still an issue which is why they brought in a number of guys. but they needed the qb first. i suspect that wr will top the liby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com

He was left exposed to 2 teams in an expansion draft not the entire league And it's doubtful they knew what they had in Warner. Is the same true for Barnes? I hope so but that's not what zn is saying. He's saying they outsmarted the entire league.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
