The rams don't seem interested at all in a traditional fs type. Gw wants the safeties to be interchangeable. Why keep harping about it?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
We're talking about Snead. And it's my understanding that those responsibilities fall on demoff. But even if you want to say they are his responsibilities a measure of success is not a pure dichotomy of retained or not retained. For instance the rams retained Austin yet half the posters here say it was too expensive. Is that a win or a loss? In your scenario he should get credit for it regardlby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Take Billy devaney for example what was his track record in the first? I don't know off the top of my head but my guess is not that good. And obviously the lower you pick the harder it gets.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Unfortunately it's not as simple as that... They could have easily retained McLeod if they paid him enough. But how much is too much? Who do you lose if you pay McLeod more than he's worth. I would measure Snead by identifying talent not keeping them. The harder job is identify them. The easier job is keeping them cuz it generally cones down to money.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
As an extreme example if Snead were so successful at acquiring talent that he could not possibly keep them all due to the salary cap that would be a negative? You have a convoluted performance measurement system if one measure of success directly leads to failure at another.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i think all the guys i noted as hopeful or breakout players are 3 years or less which is about the time it takes to develop a player to maximum value.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
either acknowledge they are good players or dont. if you do snead did a good job of acquiring them. if not, then you have your answer. you shouldnt like snead moreover the fact that jenkins is not on the team is irrelevant. snead identified the talent. to me, we can argue about the degree of "goodness" but they all fall into the good acquisition category. to me the reason we hby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
how? snead selected and he went out and mad a boatload of cash. how does that work against snead. it is an indicator that you picked a good player. and the list goes on in no particular order... gurley (possible the best at his position) donald (see gurley and if theydidnt take AD the pick was OBJ) austin (lets see what he does with a better offesne) robinson (looking like a break outby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
snead has had more than 2 "good" draft picks. hes had 2 outstanding draft picks and many good picks. moreover none of these were easy picks: donald was/is undersized and gurley was coming off an acl. if you want to grade his drafting, why not benchmark him. how many "good" draft picks do you think he should have? should they be weighted by round? and i believe charleby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
where would you expect them to find a "big time" wr less then a week before the season? i think its been demonstrated over the last 4 years that the rams are not interested in a typical centerfield type free safety. if they were they would have at least tried to get one at some point during the last 4 years. they view their safeties as interchangeably.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I didn't focus on him much this preseason but it's hard to imagine where he fits in on this team with saffold brown wichmann and donnal in place at guard.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
We take one minute action and build a whole narrative whether positive or negative about it?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
He's taken 39 snaps and hasn't looked any better than Goff. Moreover lynch isn't starting either.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Finally watched the game last night and noticed quite a few tipped passes. Bad throw or bad luck?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i dont doubt what you say 43, but if he cant take that level of criticism he will never make it as as a qb in the nfl and we made a serious error in judgement by drafting him. open a newspaper or log onto this board...its much worse then what weinke said.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
can you imagine that? i football coach yelling at a player! probably the first time ever. i hope his feeling weren't hurt.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i didnt find that conversation condescending or particularly harsh. it didnt stand out in my mind at all, especially in comparison to GW. i guess its all a matter of perspective.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i certainly agree that different people respond differently to various coaching methods. i will not pretend however to know what motivates goff. ive seen all of Hard knocks but i dont recall weinke going off on goff, but maybe im wrong. i do recall thinking that boras goes out of his way to comfort goff though. so im not sure whats going on there. to be honest, i dont recall this whole plaby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I find statements like this rather amusing as there is no way any one of us have the ability to have an informed opinion about the ability of the coaches to coach. So what exactly do you think they are doing wrong? Moreover fisher's actual history with qbs simply doesn't match this narrative. Every single qb Fisher coached had his best year under fisher.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think thats just about right. my only thoughts are that id keep marquez over quick and cut duke. (do we need 6 avg receivers?) then id add c lynch to the lb core. also im not sure G. Reynolds makes it. The rams may want to go younger and keep donnal (also i was under the impression that he played guard, but perhasp i was not as observant s you)by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's fine to disagree but I don't know what you mean when you say it speaks for itself. I just laid out in which he got the most out of all three qbs he had a hand in developing. Am I missing something?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Is this a bad track record? he went to the SB with mcnair. in addition he was a 4x pro bowler and received the league Co-MVP award in 2003 with Peyton Manning. he didnt want vy but made him serviceable. VY went from a 66.7 qb rating as a rookie to 98.6 in 2010. the next year without fisher it was 60.8. SB improved both years under fisher going from 70.5 in 2011 (pre fisher) to 82.6 in 2012by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
foles qbr was 69. Ck was 87.7. thats a 27 percent increase. the rams won 7 games last year. all else being equal a 27 percent increase in qb play leads to 2 more wins. so the rams will cleary go 9-7. problem solved.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i havent watched much of the titans but i think id out in a claim for hunter. cant be worse then quick. can he?by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
one would expect fisher to bring his rookie qb along slowly. check out the rookie season game logs for VY and Mcnair. VY: Mcnair:by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
im sure you were not the only one on mannion. and no one is betting on him being the starter (at least im not) im just saying he improved and looked good given the opportunities he was given. and we didnt give up an enitre draft for goff. in fact two of the picks look like keepers. cooper has flashed and higbee may be a stud. even hemmingway may be a nice te down the road. that being saby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
