Apparently there is no single definition of in over ones head.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
what am I defending? I agree that it monday was a disaster. All i am saying is that the disaster does not stem from a knowledge of football. over owns head is defined as beyond someone's ability to understand. Perhaps im naive but its seems impossible for the game of football to be beyond his understanding given his length of time in the game. maybe hes just not a very good coach. maybe hby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
for me, the term in over your head suggests he doesnt know what hes doing. thus, to me its not that he CANT adapt because he doesnt know how, its that he WONT adapt because he chooses not to. imo, there is quite a bit of difference between not knowing something and not wanting to do something.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
im not going to cry if fisher gets fired but i have a hard time believing that a guy who has been the HC of an nfl team for 20 years is in over his head. its almost impossible to believe. in order for this to be true, fisher must be the best con artist in the business as it seems that not only do nfl people like him quite a deal, but his players for the most part seem to really like him. if thby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
looked remarkably unremarkable. but i keep coming back to something steve young said. and i hate to agree with him but why didntthey take more shots down the field to open up some running lanes for gurly. they did connect on 2 to britt. i believe it was the same play or at least same route in fact. wouldnt more of that helped both gurly and CK? as it was it seemed the 9ers were just liningby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
He didn't play well but as the other poster suggested he wasn't the only issue.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
Martz eventually became an analyst for Fox Sports and after that one season, 2012, he retired from coaching football.[16] He has subsequently become unretired and is interviewing for coaching positions.[17] but i think the poster meant coaching in the nfl.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
but its hard to get excited about it at the moment.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
every time i see fisher he seems in love with goff. even when they drafted him he seemed as giddy as a school girl. i think you see what you want to see.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i would have disagreed with you, but now im not so sure. austin cant seem to catch the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. i dont know if its him or the offens eor the qb or what...it just ALL looked bad. i hate to agree with steve young but i do...there was absolutely 0 threat that the ball was going downfield. as a result, even gurly looked remarkably pedestrian.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
as one who has supported fisher over the long run, im just about done. they didnt look just bad but historically bad. i hope im overrecting and next week is a different story. but im losing faith fast.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i think this is a good thing but its bad timing. i dont think anybody likes anybody on this team right now.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
look im ready to dump fisher along with everybody else at this point but this seems a bit ridiculous. who are Keyshawn Johnson's sources????has Johnson EVER broke any story? and we all know that Fisher runs this team. I find it hard to believe.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
im not even sure what hes trying to say? it sounds like he is saying that the #1 qb is not guaranteed successes. dont we already know that...especially as rams fans given the SB pick. he even says that his title has nothing to do with him throwing a single pass. also im fairly sure you could say that about any position. idk...im kinda lost. it seems like everyone wants to jump on the bash goffby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
is their some rule that requires the 1st pick should start from day 1 or be a bust? im mean fisher could start him like wentz but why should they when CK has done an adequate job thus far.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
touting philly as an example of the right way to handle the situation? really? one is to believe that after attempting 24 passes with a 50 percent completion rate and a qb rating of 41.8 (goff is at 55.8 btw) that wentz is miraculously ready to start the season. please. the rams are the team handling this the correct way. let the kid sit until hes ready. i like wentz but the philly situation sby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
a traditional nickel package is with five defensive backs instead of the four featured in base defenses. Typically, an extra corner will come on to replace a linebacker and will align in the slot to match up with a receiver or tight end. My understanding of the big nickel is that an extra safety who acts as a hybrid linebacker/cornerback replaces the cb. It was my understanding that is what tby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i too was surprised by bryant being cut. but thats exactly my point. it re-affirmed the point that GW wants hitters about coverage. not that you cant have both, but if you have to choose, hes going with hitters.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i have no problem with mcleod. i liked him as a ram. but i also dont think hes irreplaceable. in fact i cant cant how many times i read on this board that mccleod sucks in coverage. Did he grow into it? ok. then why cant mo. i guess we will have some clue on monday night.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's a new one. I can't tell you how many posts I read saying that McLeod sucked in coverage. Until he left of course. Now the defense can't get by without him. And I'm pretty sure no said that the gw defense doesn't have someone play that role. What was said is that gw prefers hitters and tacklers to cover guys.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
i live in DC and dont recall ever hearing about this up and coming qb coach before he was hired by vermeil. I do however remember wagoner reporting that boras was well thought of around the league. At 44, Boras is well-regarded in league circles and by his players as the type of coach who would eventually move into an expanded role at some point. source: finally, why is it assumed thby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
im supervised that posters dont applaud or respect this type of innovation on defense.by PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
while martz proved to be quite an innovative coach there was little in his "run of the mill" track record to predict such a scenario. you might as well wish for a 3-4 olb as well. neither are going to happen. while it certainly is a bit unconventional it seems evident to me that the type of player you desire does not fit what GW wants to do. obviously you can disagree with such a scheme, but im comfortable allowing GW to run the defense as he sees fit. moreover, i dont think they really see their safeties as strictly box sby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
I too see a great deal of potential in this team. I felt they are a qb away from being a successfully team so I have no problem with the amount they paid to get one. Moreover while I would have liked to see Goff light it up I'm not surprised he's not starting. It's fisher's MO to bring along rookies slowly. There are pros and cons to both sides but in this case KC has played well and the teaby PHDram - RamsFootballFans.com
