ZN, that sounds like you have a completely dispassionate attachment to the Rams. That is, your post makes it seem as though winning and losing is little more than a subject to be discussed and analyzed. So indeed, who coaches and what the results are, are only starting points for a discussion. Not criticizing you; we each have our own reasons for following a team.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I have asked myself this question. Truth is, I haven't watched a Rams game in well over a month because I am so sick and tired of seeing the Rams offense flounder under the absurd scenario of a TE coach running the O and an HC who thinks offense is a 4 letter word. This year for the first time since NFL Sunday Ticket was created, I didn't buy it because I didn't think the Rams would be worthby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
This IS the Fisher O. Short pass routes. 3 yards and a cloud of dust. NEVER turn the ball over. Why would anyone who follows football think that turning this O over to a never before been an OC, Tight Ends coach who is responsible for the running game, and who is the play caller (????????????????????), not understand that Fisher chose him because he'll follow orders and not push back?by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It comes down to this. Either we have a talentless offense full of failed picks, or we have the most inept offensive coaching perhaps in the modern football era. I just don't buy that we don't have talent. Austin, Gurley, Goff, GRob, and their unit mates were upper tier players coming out. Either we have a severe chemistry problem or we have just horrible coaching that has no idea whatby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The NFL is much too mature of a business, and the owners and league far too wealthy to be asking for one dime of public money. Good for the citizens of San Diego calling BS.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
If he spun anymore he'd be a washing machine. What utter drivel. Case isn't so bad.....reason....lots of QBs are under .500. Our oline isn't so bad giving up 4 sacks......the Cards gave up 8. Gee we've only lost by between 3 and 7 points each game.....isn't that great! See how much better we are? This is defeatist thinking. This is grading on a curve. This is giving trophiesby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I hear ya. Maybe you're right. But even a not very good HC who doesn't know much about offense knows to shake things up when they're not working. High School, College, Pros. It doesn't matter. Sometimes the chemistry just isn't right. Send a message by benching Gurley and starting Brown (at least he moves a pile). Show that nobody is above it all. Sit Tavon and start Pharaoh Cooper. Shby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't put my finger on it. But when an HC has a team that is in a death spiral and his response is to change absolutely nothing......including refusing to play his #1 pick in the draft QB.....something just doesn't smell right. I don't know if Fisher is getting back at Kroenke for NOT already extending him to the terms he wanted (maybe a perceived promise was made...because of the move..by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Mike Zimmer, old school defensive football philosophy. Jeff Fisher, old school defensive football philosophy. Norv Turner, renowned veteran OC with many successes to his credit. Can't agree with the old school defense oriented coach on "how to fix it". Meaning, Norv has not been running the offense he has wanted to run. Good guy. Been an HC. Understands that a public feud beby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Austin would be a league terror if he was in a good offense on a good team. This team has NO idea how to scheme him into some open space. The Rams are offensively lost and confused, and will be under Fisher until the rules from the 80's are brought back. The man will only hire people who want to run HIS outdated offense and use his wussy philosophy of trying not to lose. Think this isby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
As an old guy, I just wonder if maybe when a guy is 2 generations removed from the players he's coaching, and the offensive game has become so different due to rules changes and the kinds of athletes that are coming out of college, that he not only can't relate to the players, he really doesn't know how to use them. Maybe it's not universal, but perhaps it is so in most cases. I'm not sayingby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It occurred to me that no matter what I might opine, or what anyone else here might ponder or write, its all been written before. It's the same subjects; the same arguments. The predictable Rams suck versus the ever-present we have to be patient crowds. When it comes to the Rams, only the names change. Poor QB play. WRs that amount to little. An oline that is porous. A defense that is inconsistby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com

What QB has had anything above a middling career with Fisher as the HC? Answer: None. A Fisher offense is a QB graveyard. Funny how Foles can do so well with the Eagles. Fail with the Rams and Fisher. And then go and perform well at KC. Funny how Bradford can do nothing but get injured and not win with the Rams and Fisher, but does so well with the Eagles and the Vikes. I can't evby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The idea that the Rams would give up their best WR for a 4th round pick to "recoup" some of their traded away picks is poor logic. A 4th round pick has about a 10% chance of ever becoming an NFL starter. If they could get a 2nd round pick? That's different. But I doubt they could. Here's a smarter move: trade Britt and a 4th to the Browns for Thomas.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Fisher is lousy with QBs and Offense. McNair is the closest thing he ever had to a success at QB development, and it isn't much. I have the feeling that it wouldn't matter who the OC is, Fisher will choose Offensive players in the draft who fit a certain criteria that he has. And history says his criteria does not equal a good offense. I'd like to be wrong on this. I'd like it to be thatby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't forget: he let McNair languish on the bench for.....was it one or two years? Fisher is one stubborn guy; and while that has its advantages, it can also be a killer.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Alabama has everything. They will crush whoever they encounter. Saban is the college version of Bellicheck. All that said, yes, I'd take Harbaugh in a second. We need a little manic crazy around this place instead of Mr. Laid Back, let's all be friends, I like moral victories, next year we'll be better, Fisher. If he has to be the highest paid HC, so what? It's the LA market, and LA doesby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Bleacher Report is closer to the National Enquirer than a true source of actual NFL info. Doesn't mean that they are always wrong. But as a reliable source? No way. That aside, I hope the report is true. The Rams could easily get 4 years out of Thomas. Well worth a 2nd round pick. Clearly GRob is a OG. He needs to move to OLG, move Saffold back to RG where he thrived. Sigh.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
That is sure different from everything I've heard. Not saying you're wrong. But where did that quote come from or is it a blogger saying that Fisher said that? And if Fisher really is saying that, then there is something more going on than meets the eye. Either Goff is really sub standard for the #1 pick in the draft, or Fisher is intentionally poking Stan in the eye.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
When this kind of dejection begins to overtake a locker room such that a player has to try to find a way to hold it together, things are getting dicey. Fisher can bluster "trust me" on Hard Knocks all he wants. A straight thinking player would ask: "Why?" "Show me the beef". Good luck getting quality FAs while Fisher is still here.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
LA, do you the think the reports a few weeks ago that Fisher has been extended but for some reason the announcement is being withheld are true? I'm the camp that doesn't believe the report because I don't see the sense in extending Fisher, officially, but then refusing to make that fact public. Might there be an agreement in principle, a sort of handshake deal, in place? Sure. Happens all thby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I've followed your posts with interest over the years and have respect for them. But ZN, for some reason you have gone hook, line and sinker all in for Fisher. You rationalize away his results with the Rams, and in his past with the Titans and call it analytical. The man is not even a .500 lifetime coach and it is a VERY big sample size. He's had very few successful years that when compareby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Really? You think our Oline is fine, it is just the wrong plays being run? Well, I guess we'll just have to disagree.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I said ....."or demographic". And the demographic is of course female in this case. And the point was why Breast Cancer? Out of all terrible, life threatening, widespread diseases why would the NFL choose Breast Cancer? A disease that is unique to only 1 sex (and yes I am aware that in extremely rare cases men can get Breast Cancer). What's wrong with Prostate Cancer awareneby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The Oline needs changes. Here would be what I would try: Move Havenstein to LT. Move Saffold to RT. Move GRob to LG. Here's why: Havenstein is a natural OT. He is not all that athletic, but I think technique and his length will help him on the Left side. He is Mr. Steady. Saffold played a lot of RT in preseason, and played OT earlier in his career. He can handle it. I just doby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
