Yes, I do think that if the Rams lose to the Giants there is a good chance that Goff will be inserted. On the other hand, what if the Rams score 31 and lose 35 to 31? And Keenum has a good game but our defense loses it for us? And of course if the Rams win, I don't see how you bench Keenum. And Fisher wouldn't. He's too much of a "player's coach" to do something like that.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Fisher drafting Goff makes no sense to me. Why would Mr. Ground and Pound draft one the best passers in college football? Goff is a prolific passer who needs to pass 30 times per game, if not more. Otherwise Fisher needs only a game manager at QB. But until Fisher is put out to pasture and we get an experienced OC that understands how to use talent, Goff will be a square peg in a round hole.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I am part of the ratings decrease. I can't answer for anyone else. I have been watching FAR less NFL football this year, but my NFL football time has been dwindling over the past couple of years. A little of it is because the Rams, my team, has been about as pathetic as it gets for well over a decade. But it goes well beyond that. Here's my reasons why I have made the NFL a far less part oby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Fisher's Rams do not fare well playing out of division teams. On the road? More bad news. That it's a neutral site doesn't matter. I have no idea what the outcome will be. But all historical evidence points towards a loss. Let's hope they can reverse the historical trend.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Wilson is starting to pile up injuries. He was very gimpy against the Rams for instance.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
That's the thing. He is no ordinary sized QB. And still the running and buying extra time in the pocket, and refusing to go down has really cost him. The other side of the coin is that he is a heck of QB who has led his team to championships.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
If he thinks the Rams offensive identity is a smash mouth running team then he is delusional (and I truly believe he is delusional and trapped in the 90's). It is clear that the ONLY way this team moves the ball is through the air. Why? 1) The oline isn't moving people off the ball. 2) Gurley is playing like a gurl. 3) The NFL rules make the passing game far more advantageous than the runniby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Running QBs get killed in the NFL. That's a fact. I wondered out loud on this board during preseason as to how long Russell Wilson would have his inordinate luck continue to play out because running is such a huge part of his game. Well, the injuries are starting to happen this year. His body is already starting to show the wear and tear of getting hit far more than a QB typically gets hit.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Keenum is nimble enough that this should have been a QB roll-out run pass option. A TE drag or something along those lines. This sort of play puts tremendous pressure on the D when you have a big back like Gurley lined up in a pro formation. I hated the play. It's not like the Rams are adept at knocking guys off the ball. And it's not like Gurley has been good at finding holes. And Keby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
What more is there to say? Penalties and Fisher are a thing; they go together. It is called lack of discipline, and the players know that all they will ever get is a stern talking-to. And then Fisher will stand up and explain how penalties don't really worry him. Well, they ought to.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
You can't be a players coach AND have a disciplined team. Fisher wants to be loved and liked by his players above all else. He wants to be a father figure. He makes excuses for poor performances, and shields players that need to be held accountable for poor play. It's the only reason that players stick to Fisher, year after losing year. Fisher gives and receives loyalty. Was Coughlin loveby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm starting to see why there'e so many arguments and such around here over Fisher, Goff, you name it. There are those who are reasonably satisfied with a .500 team especially if they look respectable or "competitive" on the field. And then there are those (myself included) who could give a rip about the optics. If this game isn't about winning, then I don't even understandby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Not only is your obvious intent to compare the Broncos/Kubiak with the Rams/Fisher not Apples to Apples, it is closer to Apples to Octopuses. So this does little to dispel my, or the other posters and fans, desire to actually get a good HC that is a winner instead of a guy whose MO and identity is mediocrity. But it does cement you as probably the Rams #1 fan and Fisher booster. Kubiak led hby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
There's been some strong opinions voiced on this subject.....obviously. So perhaps a good question to ask is 1) Do you believe in Fisher as the right HC for this team? And 2) do you believe that this team as constituted is a legitimate playoff team? I'd really like to hear your answers, but especially the WHY. Because while I understand fan homerism, and understand that a team can be yourby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I swear. If I hear one more time about Fisher's moral victories and how the O is improving I'm going to puke. For him that is the measure of "success". Not wins. The man has as much understanding of modern NFL offense as I do of stealth bombers. He still thinks that the rules that favor the pass game don't matter except on defense. He refuses to take advantage on O. Then,by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff's time should only happen if Case can't get it done. Playing Goff while Case is winning would be an insult. And I don't think the team would support that.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Here is what this team needs (player personnel-wise) 1) a stud run blocking OG...a proven player. An Incognito type. Our OTs are OK. Our C could be better but is adequate. But OGs are the key to the run game. 2) a top flight WR that scares D's and demands special attention. A guy that can ruin the plans of D's. 3) An upgrade at FS. Someone better than we've had in a while. I'm assuming inby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not a very big "IF" guy. Ever since Fisher got here the byword has been "IF". IF so and so didn't get hurt. IF only they had a competent QB. IF only they had 1 good WR. IF only GZ hadn't missed a field goal. IF only the oline just stayed healthy. On, and on, and on. Bradford was the QB Fisher wanted. Then he wanted Foles. Then he wanted Keenum. Then heby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think it's a good characterization to say that because after all these years I don't trust the Rams and don't trust Fisher so this is negativity. If so, then perhaps what some here are expressing by already jumping on the bandwagon is naivety. Like I say: beat a good Buffalo team at home for a 4th straight win, and then I can believe that a corner has likely been turned.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Sunday is D-Day for me as concerns the Rams. Right now, I'm not at all ready to jump on the bandwagon. These wins have been too fragile, and especially for a team who has obvious flaws (such as not being able to run, and the pass game coming in fits and starts). If they win against a good Bills team that is on a roll, at LA, on Sunday, then I'll believe. Until then, no way. Rams are notorby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I truly thought he's be a 2nd round guy. To get him in the 6th? He's better than Jenkins right now. Stud. Smart. Going to have a long career. Now we need a top shelf FS.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Fisher tries to paint a happy face on everything. And especially on himself. Those two challenges were just awful. They weren't that close. And if what Fisher is saying is true, that he and he alone makes those decisions, then it's even worse. You have to have someone in your ear with another vantage point giving you some input. Saying that they could afford to lose those 2 timeouts isby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
He says things that to me is finger pointing including seeing 12 guys of Defense. He needs to play better. Period.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that Keenum is not noodle-arm. On the other hand, for whatever reason, his throws demonstrate little velocity. Never will you see a throw "on a rope". That said, I haven't seen a real limitation on the distance he can throw a ball. But he has to get his body into the throw for it to get to where he wants it; just watch when he's hurried and not in a good throwing position and uby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's see: Our over-his-head rookie OC who calls the plays, and who was the TE's coach until late last year (and we ALL know how wonderful our TEs have been over the last few years), is the running game co-ordinator as well. And the run game is non-existent even with a RB who is supposed to be on his way to the HOF. Hmmmmm.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Gurley is simply not making anyone miss. This isn't all on the oline. You're not going to get nice clean holes all the time.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The Emperor has no clothes. True. Our oline isn't run blocking very well. True. D's are stacking it up pretty good along the LOS. But Gurley isn't doing much either. He's making nobody miss. First tackler gets him most of the time. Good RBs have to make lemonade out of lemons. Gurley is not doing that. He needs to shut up, look in the mirror, and play better. Or is this who he really iby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm shocked that anyone is shocked over the Cards being heavy favorites. They are far more proficient offensively than the Rams. They got their rear ends kicked last week and will come out loaded for bear. They're at home. The Rams offense still looks like the sisters of mercy. C'mon. Why would anyone put money on the Rams if it wasn't at great odds? Not predicting who will win.....by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Josh Gordon.....total knucklehead, loser, pothead, come up with any label you want. He's been a troubled guy since college (and very likely before). You can't count on him to answer the phone let alone come and play football. This guy is going to wind up living under a bridge.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
