Shecky that was a great answer. How did you research that? Thank for your postby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
What a great signing. This guy can be a starter if needed at either tackle spot. Our 2 tackles have been subject to injuries and now we finally have a high caliber backup who won't miss a beat. GREAT SIGNING. Fixes our #1 depth issue.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 For example: Rams are exceptionally good at finding WR’s, even in midrounds or later. Pretty darned good at DL and Edge, too. No slouches at Safety later in draft, either. But other positions seem to be difficult for them. Examples: QB (other than trading up for talent or FA, no real home grown talent) RB. Been a bit iffy since Gurley. Even Kyren has his issues. TE. Every thing looks great. Maybe some depth issues at OT, Maybe depending on a Rookie tackling machine at ILB, and while we have decent CB we are lacking the lock down leader in the 2ndary. Team is young, talented with some star vets and a great draft but we don't need to depend on any rookies early in the season. But expect some rookie surprises and expect a few to get into the rotation ifby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think regardless of what Bennet does the Rams will pick a QB in round 1 this year. If he goes gang busters great but Stafford will probably be back after this season for 1 more year and by that time Bennet will be in the last year of his contract. Rams have to hedge their bets and do whatever the need to do to secure the best QB they can get in the draft next season. Even if they keep Beby David Deacon - Rams Chronicles
Merlin I hate to agree but Bennet looks like a long shot to even be a decent #2 QB. However, we have really no idea how he developed last year which is really his first full season in the Rams organization. Surely he should be way ahead of where he was last year coming off that mental breakdown. The Rams were pretty loaded prior to the draft and there is always an adjustment period for most Rookies even those you hit on in the draft. The last 2 drafts were great but we also had a lot needs which created openings for the rookies to play right away. Quotealyoshamucci 2 things... Fumbles... And a stacked RB room. Cook wont get 15. Chuba Hubbard got 8 or 9. Williams might get double digits if he cleans up the fumbling. I would add he has a history of injuries and with his size and running style how long can he last?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Kyren a 7 Mil is an okay deal. That said I think he is a high risk signing. He has been banged up a bunch and his running style, which makes him effective, and is smaller stature are a bad combination for a long career. At 12+ there is a good chance we end up getting stuck with a salary cap stinker of a contract. High Risk, Fumbles, Gets injured just too many potential negatives. It seems the Rams plan is to draft a QB next season and there seems to be a good crop that will potentially come out. Is there a QB where Snead/McVay say Make that guy a Ram? We have 2 firsts and can always include the 2027 pick to move up for the right guy, lets say Manning. While it seems like Manning is a franchise QB is there another candidate that fits that profile and worth doing wby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think Stafford was ever going anywhere else. He was just testing the market to determine his value and to help the Rams understand his value so they could make a fair deal. I think that the Rams plan is for Stafford to play this year and next. I think they hope to draft the QB of the future next season and will go all in to get their guy. How do you get the best bang for the buck? You draft a bunch of players that can contribute and you develop those players into a cohesive unit. It really is not difficult to see how it is done but actually executing it is extremely difficult. You need a Snead and McVay that work as one and who's organizations are all on the same page melding their skills together to build a roster of lby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I have to agree 43 it was a great off season. Off Season they secured Stafford for at least another year but probably for 2 more years. During the Draft the go another 1st rounder pick in a good for 2026 which is shaping up to be a strong QB Draft. Snead has a plan to draft a replacement for Stafford and probably won't have to throw him to the dogs in season 1. This will solve a huge prby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great Draft. Got good value at TE, got the OT and a couple of CB's. Like the trade down to pick up another 3rd. I would be very happy with this draft.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Dead that was great. When I read the start of the board I liked everyone of them then realized there is a good chance all will be gone by the time 26 rolls around. I will be using this board on draft day for sure. Thanks again for sharing what must be a labor of love.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Just turned 69. Started rooting for the Rams when the fearsome foursome and Roman Gabriel were a big thing.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Dead thanks again for all you do. This was a real treat and it seems the OL class is better than I first thought. There are so many directions the Rams can go in this draft that I am still finding it very challenging to get a handle on what they might do.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Dead I now have enough information to be totally confuses as to what the Rams might do. I figure we pick up a LB, TE, CB, WR at some point. Top the the TE class seem good. Other positions seem to have depth. I really see this as a draft for the future but I am not sure how that impacts who they might choose since they seem to love the those who eat, sleep and love football, leaders aby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree a big contract for a smallish running back who gets hurt often seems like a bad contract waiting to happen. While Williams production has been good except for the numerous fumbles he gets hurt every season. At his size and running style I question how much tread is really on those tires. I guess this is calf season. A fellow from our church here on Hilton Head who comes here for the winter got a call from his son that their first calf dropped the other day and he is headed back home to Wisconsin. What a great job on the value list. I especially like your tiers and overall assessment of the position in addition to the evals. Thank Dead. I agree with the probability of a trade down into Round 2 seems likely. CB seems like a position they will add in top 3 rounds. TE and I guess WR also seem likely. Even if Dart is there at 26 or in 2nd round after a trade down I just don't think he is a future potential elite starter. Trade Down: My initial reaction is that trading down out of the 1st round and into the 2nd makes a lot of sense. I say this because this is a strong draft in the positions where the Rams need to build depth. However, just because there is a lot of strength in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and extra picks in those rounds would be great doesn't mean there will be teams willing to move up and make a greby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
There isn't an heir apparent QB to draft this year. Picking the kid form Syracuse in the 3rd round would be a lottery ticket type pick. Using a high pick on Dart is a waste. Would he even be better than Bennet?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Right now CB is not a screaming need which is a big deal. We don't have to reach for a CB or any other position going into the draft. Snead can understand where the best value is in the draft maximize our draft capital through trading up/down/hold strategies. Right now it looks like we will be drafting for depth and CB, TE, ILB, OL, WR are probably positions we will use picks. I don't seeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree there 100%. We are in a very good position right now even from a depth perspective we do not have any position that are screaming for help other than ILB perhaps. What gets me stoked is that we can approach the draft and maximize value. We can trade up or down without being desperate for a specific position where we need to use a high pick for a player that may not be at the top of tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 But now, I would be content with taking a ‘difference maker’ at any of these 7 positions: QB RB TE WR ILB CB S What do y’all think? I think CB would be our greatest need a position that Snead would consider using a high pick on. ILB is another position of need but I don't see Snead using a premium pick here.
