For the last few years, I've been putting my Christmas tree up the week before Thanksgiving. That's early enough for me.
When driving through a nearby neighborhood of upscale houses the other day, I noticed 2-3 have their outside Christmas lights up. I'm thinking they just took advantage of the decent weather we've had during the month of October to do it rather than waiting to do it in November when it could be bitterly cold. I don't think the families turn the lights on. It's much too early. They're just up and ready to go.
