They were every Thursday morning at 10 AM. With a coupon in the newspaper and only $1.35, you'd get a movie ticket, small popcorn, small Coke and a roll of Sweet Tarts or Sprees. You'd also get a ticket with a number. The number was the number of racers in these old time races from the 1930s. It might be a car race, foot race or boats. There was always cheating by the racers that made it fun. Out of probably 200 seats, there was usually just 2 winners. Usually a AM radio or big stuffed animal. The movies were usually 1950s,60s and early 70s B flicks. "Die Monster Die" with Karloff was a big hit. Those old Fun Shows have been gone since around 1979 but are STILL talked about by folks my age from the old neighborhood.
