The twin screen Theater in town was SLAMMED EEEEEVERY weekend. I mean SLAMMED! I arrived in Blytheville on 20 May 1986. About 2 weeks later, I saw Top Gun there. It had been in the theater for several days and the theater was STILL slammed. Remember, even with the base open, Blytheville was a town of hardly 17,000 people. Later that year, I saw the John Carpenter flick, "Prince Of Darkness". It was a simple but fun horror flick that got little Hoopla. BUT...The theater was absolutely slammed for that too. And this was an old school theater with many seats. When I went back to Blytheville about 6 years ago, it was sad to see the theater sitting abandoned. It has since been torn down I hear.
