Been following a story about a Beagle......

that got hit by a car and was transferred to Beagle Freedom Project, who through donations from a HUGE support group, normally have unlimited funds.. They named him Sammy and the initial photos were heart breaking.. Compound fractured legs, teeth knocked out, collapsed lungs.. and just the look in his eyes... heartbreaking.. Whoever hit him left him in the road for dead, so no telling how long he lay there before somebody helped him...

I immediately donated to his care - I always do for the dogs that affect me.. He really reminded me of our own Hatfield, who had been hit by a car and who's snout had been broken in half and many teeth actually broken in half, as well.. Just horrific injuries that no dog should have to endure..

Sammy was stabilized and had gotten almost $20K in donations.. I was beginning to think he would pull through, but would have a long road to recovery and probably lose at least one leg.. Sometimes even unlimited funds and the best healthcare is not enough..

Beagle Freedom Project posted that Sammy passed away yesterday.. This one really broke my heart because he suffered so much.. there was a good chance I would have tried to adopt him even tho BFP dogs get thousands of applications.. This is a situation I will probably never find peace with..
