some of it's becoming the studios own fault

as some studios are releasing movie simultaneously on a streaming service at the same time

Movies like Dune opened the same day on HBO and Halloween opened the same day on Peacock

it hurts the independent theater owners

some are released in theatrical rentals , where you can rent the movie as it's released for like 29 bucks or something , which if you have a large family , might be the way to go
