from my mom's house porch.. it looked like it was 3 blocks away, but was actually 1.5miles away.. it was mesmerizing.. I had a fully loaded 35mm camera on the table AND a TV action camera - the kind of vid camera they used to take on news stories in the field.. I was SO blown away by it that it never crossed my mind to film it or shoot it.. I have regretted that ever since and is why every time the sirens go off I grab the camera and climb on the roof..
Later that night and early the next morning I went out and began shooting damage photos.. I had a press pass and was able to get into restricted areas.. it was surreal.. it didn't look real.. indescribable damage.. entire neighborhoods complete gone, dried blood everywhere.. like being in a war zone.. I need to post some of those pics.. I had quite a few printed in the paper and have scanned them a few years ago..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
