Agreed on Downey Jr. as Stark.
Most of my childhood Spiderman memories are with 70's TV cartoon The Amazing Spider-man. I loved that show, and can still recite most of the opening song by memory lol. I've enjoyed Holland as Peter Parker, but really like JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. Dude is perfect! Really looking forward to No Way Home.
As for Conan. For the movie (I guess) they created a bogus story about him growing up in captivity. Doesn't matter how young Conan was, he would have never allowed that. If you've ever seen the opening 15-20 minutes of the 2011 Jason Momoa version, that is much closer. The rest of the movie is pretty forgettable. Also..., imagine a battle scene not unlike the ones we see in Braveheart. The best way to describe Conan in the middle of all that violence & carnage would be to say he was like this Majestic Lion amongst common Wolves. A huge man, a full head taller than the tallest men of his time, and cat-quick. In short, he WAS a bad-ass lol.
Ironically, your favorite "crush your enemies" line was my worst. "Listening to the lamentation of women" is just not something Conan would say. But Arnold's voice, and how he said it.... I was just crushed! LOL! But again, I thought all of the central back up character's/actor's were very good.
My favorite line from the original Conan was uttered by King Osric, played masterfully by the actor Max Von Sydow. As you recall, the King has Conan & his friends arrested for robbing the temple of Set (that he despises). The King makes them believe they are in serious trouble, until he reveals that he wants to hire them to rescue his brain-washed daughter. After he expresses his hatred for Thulsa Doom, and the Set cult, he then showers them with Rubies and says :
“.....there comes a time when all the jewels cease to sparkle..., the gold loses its’ luster..., the throne room becomes a prison..., and all that is left is a man’s love for his child....”
Well, I'm no king, or rich, but my first 3 children are girls.... and the way that line is delivered... (gulp) gets me every time. LOL!
