Dodgers could lose one game to even the worst team in the league let alone the Cardinals-an awfully good one. If that happens I think MLB will look at a different format. Other wise your discounting a team that wins a hundred or more games. One suggestion I've heard is the wildcard is scheduled for two games. If the team with the best "record" wins the first it's over. If not they play a second game and whoever wins that is the winner. Makes the team with the lesser record win two games in a row to move on.
