I have no idea what happened to them but after a pretty abysmal season in which there was no hope, they came alive and are finally playing great baseball. Most fans and local sports analysts and newscasters are in giddy shock. The Cardinals pretty much were a .500 team all season and held down 3rd place in the NL Central from June to mid-September. Now they are 14 games above 500 and are in 2nd place in the NL Central. The Cards just swept the 1st place Milwaukee Brewers in a 4-game series which makes it the TWELFTH WIN in a row. They have a real shot now at making it into the playoffs as a Wild Card. Not sure who'd we'd play if we do... I think I heard the Dodgers but it's not certain. There's a lot of pressure on that game 'cause it's a one and done deal. Anyhow, however the regular season ends, I sure didn't see it ending like this!
