see, I'm not as senile people believe.
As for POI's, ( points of interest ), I'm definitely a 'gotta see the world's largest ball of twine' type. I was checking POI's along my route and came across an unusual one(s). Abandoned Bridges. I was using Rand McNally's "Tripmaker". LOT of abandoned bridges in the SouthWest. Why would anyone want to take a side trip to see an abandoned bridge? I'll post pics of all of them when I return from my trip.
Speaking of route planners and POI's anyone know of a good one? I noticed that with Rand McNally's trip maker you can't locate hotel/motels. I used to use Garmin Basecamp which you can set to show hotels, (also restaurants, gas stations, etc) along your route... and you can set how many miles off your route it will search.. IOW.. find hotels within 5 miles of my route. BUT... I bought my Garmin maps decades ago and Garmin won't allow me to use them anymore... I need a new trip planner app.. Garmin is WAY too expensive.
