A long time ago. A very long, long, long time ago I posted about one of my motorcycle trips around the USA. On that trip I tried to locate my Mom's Dad's gravesite in Miami, Arizona. (I never met him. He died when I was 3) I failed... it's a long story. Made a promise to myself to return. SOOO... (I know where the gravesite is now).
Thinking of a Pops and grandsons trip. Home to Miami, Arizona.. (Find his grave)... Miami, Arizona to the Grand Canyon (side trip for the return home).
1,646 miles total.... 4.5 days... average of 366 miles per day. 5 Star hotels (or closest we can get)... lots of steakhouses. Yeah, I know, sounds exhausting doesn't it? Ah well... I've taken some trips averaging 800 miles a day... of course I was younger then.
Might be time for a visit to Meteor Crater, Arizona, (it's nearly on the route).... last time I visited Meteor Crater was when I was about 7. I think it would be nice to see something that hasn't changed in the last 65 years. - JamesJM
