Well, sticking them under my tongue until they dissolve.. is getting to be old.. Half the time, it doesn't even help with the chest pain/pressure..
I start cardiac rehab tomorrow.. they are literally gonna put me on a treadmill walking 2 miles an hour for 2 minutes while hooked up to an EKG setup.. tremendous waste of time..
I found out today there is one branch of arteries that were too small to be stented.. I asked how bad where they? Answer: blocked 90%.. so, I got 3 stents, a ballooned branch of arteries, and still have one branch blocked 90% that they can't fix.. doc said he'd try to use meds for it.. Well, when are we gonna start THOSE meds? Doncha think we need to get cracking on that?
Do the PT, please.
My 98 year old dad had a TAVR (heart valve ) shoved in on 6/24.
My older brother and my dad weren't believers in PT, my mom was ambivalent. I insisted he go and he did 12 sessions spread over a month and it helped him. 2 - 20 minute sets on a recumbent bike, I saw younger men and women on treadmills. Light weight lifting, 2lbs weights , these were for upper body. Higher weights for younger people.
Pop admitted after two weeks it was helping and after the 4 weeks ended , last Friday, he has kept up the weight lifting and some rubber band exercises. He plans on buying a recumbent bike to keep up the PT and plans on turning 100.
Good luck.
