I have a pair of Sony MDR-V6 headphones I bought in 2016 for $98. I use them with my desktop on a daily basis. Anyhow, I was replacing an ear pad cover and I twisted the cover too far and did something to the wire on the right ear. Now the right ear piece has a short in it. I thought about replacing the headphones if I had to but now the Sony MDV-v6 headphones are $$197 for a USED pair on Amazon and they're $400 new on eBay and elsewhere. What the ?? I'm looking for an electronics shop that can hopefully fix them for me.
I needed to help my son out with getting a car this past spring.. Originally I was going to wait until fall, but my instincts told me that would be a mistake because the automobile market was beginning to dry up. So I bought a 6-year old pre-owned vehicle in April and about a month later, the well was about dry at car dealerships. When we got the car, the salesman told us they only had about 30 cars in their inventory where they normally used to have 300. We got a good price because we got in right before the crap hit the fan. We would have paid a few thousand $ more if we'd waited.
I know it's all about supply and demand but prices on everything have gone up quite a bit. If I see something now that I want/need, I don't wait for a sale or for prices to come down. I go ahead and buy it cause next week it could be out of stock and you don't know if they're going to offer it again or not.
I've also noticed that online retailers are starting to offer a bunch of pre-owned stuff. I was looking for little boy's shirts the other day and encountered page after page of pre-owned clothing on Walmart.com. I was shocked. Then today I found the pre-owned headphones on Amazon.com. When did they start selling used stuff??
I can see the difference in my grocery bill. Meat has almost become a luxury! How in the world do people who are struggling afford to feed their families or eat healthy?
Has the cost of anything this year made your jaw drop lately?
