I'm sure you know the song... "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal. I HATE that song, or did - more on that in a minute.
At the same time... I think "Kiss From a Rose" is one of the most brilliant, artistic, songs ever recorded. When I listen to it I'm blown away by the talent it took.. not just Seal, the music, the production, from top to bottom it is brilliant.
Now about hating it - I still don't like it.... BUT... because I so loved the artistry and talent of the song I listened to it a LOT... and today I wouldn't say I actually 'hate' it... I certainly don't like it but I like it a lot more than I did at first. - JamesJM
At the time it came out. It was a huge deal. She was also friends with Jon Anderson from YES. fwiw. I do like the song but its not really my style of music. But like you I marvel at a well written, well produced pop song. Its like catching lightning in a bottle. One hit wonder...
