but, like I said, sod with some neighbors didn't take at all and died quickly.. So, at least in our neighborhood, sod isn't a slam dunk to work.. I do think adding a few inches of dirt with the sod on top of that might have a better chance since tree roots are growing all over the surface of the yard..
