Sounds like..

When Ashton is there, she has her security blanket and is calm and content just to be in his company.. When he's not there, I can only guess she acts out more or gets all her anxiety or frustrations out.. but I don't really know cats that well..

It is interesting why certain dogs or cats get super attached to a single human.. I dunno why that is.. Now with humans, I can tell you this: I've never had kids.. In my life I have NEVER once held a baby - I've turned down the offer many times by telling the parents I've got major butter fingers and will just drop the baby.. that usually ends the discussion..

But, at the same time, babies - and especially toddlers - just LOVE me.. I mean LOVE me.. I can't explain it - I guess my lack of interest just causes them to fall in love with me for some reason.. either that or good looks - I dunno..
