definition of political.. I think draping an American flag across the field is a PATRIOTIC gesture, not a political one.. it doesn't benefit EITHER party more than the other, or at all.. Singing the National Anthem is, again, a PATRIOTIC gesture and , in my opinion, would only be construed as a political gesture by people here who don't think anything patriotic should be presented at any event.. those are the people who probably burn AMERICAN flags, stomp on them and make other anti-American gestures..

That's your call, but I really don't feel as if playing the National Anthem and presenting the American flag is a political gesture - only if you are appalled by those type gestures..

My problem with it is that the games are presenting patriotic gestures and some players are choosing to turn those patriotic gestures into political statements.. In my opinion, well, that sucks..
