Yeah, technology has screwed music in general..

but really helped two entirely different artist types.. For one, it helps the morons with no talent and no ability to actually lay down pre-recorded loops and drum patterns and put something out... but.. its also helped the Prince type musicians, like me, who CAN play just about everything and would rather record it all themselves than hire studio guys or hafta compromise in a band type situation..

In Prince's case, as far as I know, he wrote and recorded everything himself then hired musicians to form the bands and tour with.. but I haven't quite studied that - just what I've heard.. which is kinda sorta what I'm trying to do.. Where Prince had it WAY above me is that he could sing like nobody's business and when I sing, all the plants here die..
