I remember on my trips to St. Louis to see our Rams... and I'm a little ashamed to admit this?
I couldn't quit thinking, nor did I wish to keep thinking, about the "Jazz" element St. Louis brought the world. Actually.. while there, (each time), I wanted to bring it up and see if anyone wanted to take in one of the St. Louis Jazz clubs... BUT... I knew I was pretty much alone in liking jazz and also... we were there to see the Rams... not fart around watching saxophone players.
I can't make a list of the Jazz Clubs I've been too... gone from memory... but I did visit, at least what I have in mind as a 'jazz club', in NY once.. SF a handful of times.... LA once which makes me wonder... I don't think LA has EVER really had that many 'jazz clubs'? Not from there but I certainly never heard of many. Also one in Philly, another in Atlanta... which leads me too....
Missing out on attending one in St. Louis? That's sacrilege. Miles Davis rolled over in his grave. Wynton Marsalis, if he reads this board, will probably show up at my house this evening to kick my ass.. and if he does I won't put up any resistance at all.. I have it coming. - JamesJM
