I was at a Peter White concert in Hanford, Calif.... small outdoor venue. Being so small, (Hanford is a small farming community in central Ca.), there wasn't a very stringent line of demarcation between audience and performers, (sort of like I envision a cruise concert being)... so between songs there was a lot of chatter, conversation, between Peter and audience.

Between songs Peter mentioned that one of his early hero's on guitar was Jimi Hendrix. Someone in the audience asked if he could play any Hendrix. What happened next blew my mind. Peter looked down to his pedal controls, (as guitarists do), and in just a couple of pushes set the sound, (took him all of 5 seconds), and started playing "Purple Haze" by Hendrix... and it was - - - - - perfect. The sound, every note, you would have sworn Jimi Hendrix was on stage.

I have seen similar happen at a few concerts.... and the above in 'reverse' as well..... heavy rock performers mimic a classical piece... and do it to perfection. The talent of some, (and I think it's most of the better known musicians of any genre), is incredible. - JamesJM
