but I can't remember the exact location. I do know that it was amazingly close to the center of town today.
Belgium... I may have mentioned that my last trip to visit my son in England we traveled to Bruges, Belgium. Unfortunately we did have a lot of time to visit, a little over a day.... but it was one of my favorite cities. Of course what I remember most, 2nd most that is (coming up), was a 'beer' brewed there by Monks... you almost can't get it outside of Belgium, and it was everything I heard it was... outstanding. Just outside of the 'old town' area it's pretty much like every other city in Europe... modern, but in the old part of town you'd swear you had stepped back in time about 1,000 years.
One of the most amazing events of my life occurred there. Before going to Bruges I had heard NOTHING of what I'm about to describe... no idea it was there:
We were in a central plaza and I talked my son into visiting a Basilica located there. As I said, I knew nothing about it. It turned out to be quite famous. Basilica Of The Holy Blood... in which is housed a sacred relic said to contain the blood of Christ. (Obviously this is iffy). So we go inside....where I make this discovery... then this story gets even more amazing -
They put the relic on display once a day... for just a short time. As luck would have it... I was there precisely at the right time.. in fact I was the 2nd person in line. - JamesJM
