I don't, or rather I haven't.... well... except for some very obvious locations. I mean the aerials are quite easy to figure out.
I have not been to the Hollywood area in some years.... don't like it there..... but, until the 90's I traveled there often. So while I don't recognize many individual intersections, or buildings, I can certainly discern the 'feel' of the area and yeah... it's exactly how I remember it.
I'm probably going to do some research into the restaurants, diners, used in the show.... obviously they are actual locations, (not sets), that are still in use today... and identical to how I remember then from as far back as the 50's.
At one time I did know Hollywood Blvd, Sunset, a few others, like the back of my hand. For one thing...on every return trip home from Ram games my wife insisted on driving thru that area... mostly to 'spot' movie stars. Oh man the fights she and I got into over that.
And, of course, she forced me to buy the "Map To The Movie Stars Homes"... which sent our spats into overdrive. Many a post game I didn't get home until 5am, meaning straight to work, no sleep.
Perhaps they've cleaned things up somewhat today..... but the area I liked the most, (then), was the Hollywood and Vine area... but I'm referring to the late 50's thru maybe the last 60's... when, to me anyway, was when it became a bit too squalid for my tastes... however, before that I really enjoyed the 'feel' of that area... sightseeing the old hotels, visiting some of the old bars.... for me it was like being in a golden age of Hollywood movie.
BTW... wrapping up Season 1 right now. I do like it, Waterfield... so I'm hesitant to complain very much... but it did start slow for me. And oh Lord the Politics, everyone is motivated by politics... even in their personal lives.... and that, frankly, aggravates the hell out of me.
BUT... the story, (the cold case), yeah, that definitely held my attention.
Now I don't want you to give anything away but of course I couldn't help but notice the 'crime scene' location, the bones, were in Wonderland.... and thus... sure, "The Wonderland Murders" (or whatever that is called, the John Holmes thing), came to mind and I wondered... is that coming up.... season 2, 3, sometime? Frankly I'm not sure if that case was ever fully solved? - JamesJM
