I wonder if your blood sugar got too low?
If you have access to, or can get a glucometer (I think you can buy them over the counter for $30 or less) you could check it next time you feel that way. They usually come with 10 or so test strips, so you could check it a few days. The test strips are the expensive parts, they practically give the meters away.
Or I think I have an old spare laying around I could mail to you, if you want.
Or... just make sure you eat something before you work out. If it never happens again, that MIGHT explain it, but you'd have no way to ever know for sure.
Or... go see your doctor, talk to him/her about the episodes and ask if you might have become diabetic. This is probably my best suggestion, the others are in case you don't want to do that.

P.S. It's probably NOT diabetes, but sounds like one of several possibilities to check out.
