Hell, you know me, Steve... most media productions today I haven't seen... many that are MEGA-popular.
Quick story, and NOT meant to convince you to watch Harry Potter. When the first movie came out I had not read any of the novels. I knew it was popular but that's it. I was in Fresno one day, when my son lived there, and we had some time to kill so we decided to take in a movie. We went thru what was playing and he suggested Harry Potter - - he had seen it... but when he suggested it he didn't praise it by any means... just saying 'I might like it'. We went to see it.
I came out of the theater in awe. And I turned to my son as we exited the theater asking, "You thought that was just OK? That was absolutely incredible". He laughed.
We have an agreement with each other... we do not reveal spoilers of any kind, to include how much we liked, or disliked, a film. Fact is: He was as enthralled by the movie as I was.. but man did he ever hide that fact well.
