A friend of mine that lives maybe 3-4 miles from the crash site reminded me that their destination was Camarillo Airport, from which they would need to backtrack by car about 15-20 minutes to get to where they were going. Landing at, say, Burbank Airport instead when the weather popped up would be maybe 35-40 minutes by car on a Sunday morning. Just not worth the risk at all.
