I've known many helicopter pilots in my career, many of them test pilots whom I worked with, and by their nature they were risk takers. But never with kids in the aircraft. NEVER.

It was a kids' basketball game. What the #### is the urgency?

The team she was on didn't really have a game schedule. They had these "tournaments" instead. I'm thinking if it was important to her (and I'll bet it was), then it was important to him. Even so, the pilot should have said, No Can Do... not today. It would have been better for them to take a limo and arrived a little late than not at all. The truly sad thing to me is that this did not have to happen.
