that the pilot was probably under a lot of pressure to get an A list celebrity and group to their destination.. because if he didn't, Kobe would probably hire someone who would.. Not saying the pilot was not to blame - I think he clearly was and should have stayed grounded that day - but I'm sure in the back of his head he was thinking, 'if I don't do it, someone else will".. Also, the pilot was (I forget the exact phrase) certified to fly by instruments, which probably gave him more of a sense of security..
I know I sound like I'm completely backing the pilot - I'm not - I'm just saying there was probably a lot of pressure involved in making the decision..
