I probably did, and forgot.
I was going to mail a package to my son's family in England. We have 700 people in our home town, the post office is NEVER busy. So I was surprised to see a car, (one car), parked at the Post Office when I pulled up... and cranky about it too... I'd have to wait for one person. (You may have guessed I have little patience).
So anyway... there is the main door then just inside another door into the area where you do the stuff you do at a post office... and entering the main door I hear a commotion... loud... and lots of profanity. So I go in the 2nd door and there is a middle aged lady throwing a fit. (I have no idea why), but she isn't happy with the Post Mistress... (is that the correct term?).... and she's laying into the Post Mistress with every 4 letter word she knows... and THEN.... begins tossing everything she can get her hands on at the Post Mistress.. pens, waste baskets, posters from the wall. The lady is not in a good mood.
I took cover. "Choose your battles"... and this lady was hysterical and I wanted no part of her.
Now in a town of 700 people you would think I would have known this lady, but I didn't. Never saw her before... (hope I never do again). After the lady stormed out I inquired of the Post Mistress if she was ok... she was, but in tears. She put in a call to authorities, (not sure who)... and the sheriff soon arrived, (soon in our town is within 30 minutes).
Never did find out what it was about... and I'm reluctant to ask the Post Mistress. - JamesJM
