Uneducated in military strategy...

September 25, 2018 01:42AM
I always find those battle analysis a bit bewildering. I've never really gotten deeply into WWII... but I have studied the American Civil War and studied it in depth. And even those battles, which would seem to be much easier to understand considering little tech, machines of war, are difficult for me to comprehend as far as 'strategy'.

The sheer volume of details that needed to be considered... supply lines, scouting, geography, and on and on and on almost seem to me to require supernatural mental prowess. And then there is Grant, of course, who mainly focused on one thing and one thing only.... attack. - JamesJM
