For me, I bet it has been 10 years. SOMETHING has to give! Our two REGULAR popcorn n Cokes was $32. yesteerday. That's ridiculous! I remember in the 90s, 80s and ESPECIALLY 70s......If a movie started at 7 PM, you BETTER be there at 6-6:15 to go through the concession line. Back then, it did not have to be a MEGA block buster for crowds, like Top Gun. Those days, movies were a VERY affordable night out for an entire family. With tickets and concessions these days, a family of four can easily piss away $100 + for a 90-120 minute long movie. Simply not worth it anymore. Why pay $8.50 for room temperature popcorn when you can buy two 8 packs for that and have it piping hot from the microwave at home?? I'm waiting for a SMART person to come out with Theaters where for $15, you get a movie ticket, small popcorn and small Coke.
AMC...ALL of the Theater chains better wake up! With everyone owning home entertainment stuff these days.....50+ inch TV screens with surround sound, I honestly can see Theaters going BUH BYE within 10-20 years.
